Ok, so I see that there is a ASL program, or something to that nature that adjusts the volume level? Well, I have a single disc player with no controls on the steering wheel, very basic, and when I am driving it will cut volume to the rear speakers, and then switch from left to right. It doesn't get louder with increased road noise, it actually get quieter. Is that a problem with the radio, or a function of the ASL? I don't see anything flashing on the display when it does this little trick, it just fades in and out. How would one turn that feature off if it is in fact meant to do that?
I hate taking my vehicle to the service dept since I really don't want them tearing into the dash. I always end up with rattles. I guess since I have the platnum warranty I could just take it back to have the dash rattles fixed, but my time is valuable and I don't like rentals.

ASL is in your radio but doubt it is causing your problem, I think your radio is screwing up.
Accessing ASL with the tuning knob, the same as accessing BASS, TREBLE and such, there is a low, mid, high setting and I don't know if there is an off setting, can't remember.

I have sony walman NW-003F 1Gb music player. Recently the problem came with my palyer. The problem is It's not palying Fm Radio.
Please let me know possible solutions or possible causes why FM Radio is not coming .
The dealer looked at my radio on Wed. 6/24. When I went to check up on it, he said the tech came back to him and told him the radio needed to be replaced. It was funny because I don't think he believed me when I told him what was up with the radio. He told me a new radio was on order, should I see if its a new radio or a refurb, think my next mod will be a stereo.
I have been having a problem with the volume control not working, a light tap on the top of the unit makes it work again, makes me think that there is a dry solder joint in the unit. I phone the dealer today and they ordered me a new one.
I have to say compared to the radio in my Mazda that I traded in on this truck this thing is junk.

MY basic radio AD1803 would drift off station occasionally, told dealer, they ordered a replacement. Now it works like it should and actually sounds better. The old one had some bad bass resonance going on. I had thought about padding the doors because of it
Well went to dealership today 6/30/09 after being told the new radio should take about a week to get in, LOL now they say it MAY arrive on July 10. I hope my wife loves me because I may have to sweet talk her into an aftermarket h/u.
I had a problem with the amp, I'd be driving along and the radio would all of a sudden go full blast. They replaced the amp and everything has been working fine about a year now.
Just a couple days ago I had my ipod plugged in and twice when I hit a bump in the road the sound cut out until I hit the aux button. Might be time to call the dealer. I just hope the replacement works right.
Yea finally get my radio replaced tomorrow, went and checked today to see about part status and it had just arrived. Hope it's a keeper miss listening to my ipod at night when going home.
I partied all weekend for a bachelor party this past weekend... had a solid hangover.... and I had to drive 4 HOURS with this damn radio blaring.... Volume wouldnt turn down and all my presets were screwed up.... I couldnt get it to turn off either...
Now, it is at least turning off.... but that might have been the worst 4 hours of my life.... the ride home was torture...
Finally had a terminal error with my cd changer (08 Tundra with factory nav system, cd changer, JBL speakers). There have been periodic errors, in which the cd would not eject, but would eventually reset itself. At 30,000 miles, the cd changer decided to keep one of the cd's for good. Got a replacement factory nav system, radio system under warranty. I was worried that the final failure would not occur until the warranty expired.
The base model radio (AD1803) is made by Delphi and the JBL radio is made by Panasonic - big difference there! The base radio is definitely a piece of junk

The rumor is....and this is just a rumor FWIW....that these radios were made for Toyota by none other than AC Delco.
