Default Re: Factory radio problem

I have the same problem with my radio (07 4.7L 4X2 Dbl SR5) ...random shutting off, no volume control, whacking it to get it on etc. Went to the dealer last Friday and they have a new one on order. The tech was smiling when I was describing the problems. Seems they have seen the problem in one too many Tundra.

my father in law has an 2008 toyota tacoma and his was doing the same thing as yours and he had them replace it and the replacement did it too so he finally had them just replace it with an after market and they bought him a kenwood stereo

I have the stock 6 cd radio.
The knobs work fine and volume too.
Problem is in last 2 years, 4 times it doesn't want to play CD and then doesn't want to eject it.

I'm curious, is it the CD or the unit, have had different cd's in it?

I don't want to go in and them replace cd and it happen again, just curious if anyone had same symptoms and if new stock exchange fixed your problem?
