Default Resonator removed?

Just wondering if anyone has removed the resonator in the tail pipe on the factory exhaust system.I was thinking of trying this to get a little more rumble from my 10 rcsb 5.7 without changing out the exhaust...

I did it after I put in the sway bar, not much of a difference other than the sway bar looks better from behind. The sound is a little better but I wouldn't say it's made too much of a difference.

That is decently sexy.

I took my buddy's resonator off his Ram a little while ago. He likes it and it was free. It sounds deep and domestic (chambered) under idle and cruising around.. such as under 2K rpm. After around 2.5 or so it REALLY falls on its face and is very stock sounding.

If you have $90 laying around, have 'em do a muffer swap to a different muffler. The longer/bigger the quieter, so keep that in mind. My Borla 19" muffler from my catback has a good sound but it's not ridiculously loud. Hear it from down the block at full throttle but it won't be at cruising... just about 70 yards or so.

Pulling off the tailpipe was one of the first things I tried on my truck. I didn't like how it sounded - a lot like a helicopter. You could try a turn down right after the muffler. It could make a difference, but I wouldn't expect a miracle.

I remember someone actually cutting their stock muffler apart, but I can't see how that's worth the time and effort.

If you want any more info, feel free to search the plethora of exhaust threads on here for more tips.
