I am hoping that someone might be able to help me. A couple of months ago, near San Antonio, TX, I saw a late model Tundra (current body style) that had a door pad on the driver side door that resembled the keyless entry system found on Ford/Lincoln vehicles. It must be an after market item. I contacted my local dealer and they were clueless as to what I was talking about.
Does anyone have any idea where to get one of these, who makes them and what they cost?
I would think so too. BUT, when you just need to get something out of the truck and do not have the keys/remote on you the door pad is really handy. That is actuall the ONE think I miss about the Ferds I used to own... I don't miss seeing the tow truck guy, service manager, service writer, technician (mechanic), and finally, the car rental company that gives me a Ford Escape to drive while my Excursion or F250 is being worked on...
I think it is very useful to have if you go say biking or swimming. You can lock everything in your console safe, including keys and close/open truck with this key pad.

Yep, those remotes are too big for the key pockets on running shorts. Actually, they're big enough I don't like carrying them in jeans pockets. Mine stay in a drawer full-time, never use them at all.
Which makes the Tundra CM only having a keyed lock on one of the four doors rather annoying.
Man you guys find anything to complain about the keyless entry too big
I think paying $30,000 plus gives you the right to complain about such "petty" things, no offense, just saying! Anyway, I think I have seen you around town, I am the guy with the RAD RED CM. Maybe I can check out that supercharged Tundra sometime, IM me if thats cool.
my big deal is the lake. id love to be able to leave the keys secured in the truck and not carry them from the dock to the boat etc and risk dropping them. also, some of the lakes we go to they dont have docks and you cant beach because its rocky so you have to launch the boat, park your truck and have your wife on the boat and come up so close and you have to swim out to it.....or wade at least. so it can get wet/dropped very easily.
but but but its not as cool as hitting buttons on your door hehe.
also wouldnt work for me....my concern is where to store or hide keys while im at the lake, my hitch at that point thas this big ol thing sticking out that holds my trailer on the truck

You can get these at doorkeypads.com. I looked for many, many hours for one for my 2010 Tundra Crewmax and this is the ONLY one I found that did not require cutting my door or drilling to run the wires. Another big plus for this model was that I was able to install myself, so I didn't have to drop off at a stereo shop, etc to get installed like would have been required for all the other systems I saw... After having one in my 2006 Ford F150, I really can't say how handy a feature this is to have... especially if you have small kids...
Wow, Ive never considered this but after reading a few responses, Id love to have one !!! Thanks again guys for chipping away at my savings account !!!!!!
