Question Emmission/Air Pump TSB's - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

07 CM throwing code for airpump and 02 sensor, now in shop for 2nd week for this issue. I can't find the TSB's that dealer is covering all the parts/labor under. Our truck has this feature to meet CA emmissions stds by pumping fresh air into the exhaust. Wish I could find new ECU and just strip out the air pump. My idea of an air pump is a supercharger. Any solutions?????

a emissions air pump is like a very small supercharger that pumps air(oxygen) into the exhaust manifolds to help burn away emmissions. the 5.7 has no mechanical air pump. air is pulled into the heads next to the exhaust ports by vacuum. do you have a 4.7?

Well after swaping in new parts we found a spider nest in the intake hose. Case solved. The old air pump that came out looked like an electric mechanical pump. I have a 5.7.

The 5.7 does have air pumps 2 of them to be exact! Under the front right wheel well! Remove the fender liner and wham there they are! The pump air to the ASV valve which open and allows air to flow to the exhaust. I have a problem with my asv valve even after replacing them and the controller.
