Default Go Industries Rancher Rugged Steps

I have a 2010 DC coming and am trying to decide on running boards. A search of this site has given a lot of information about various brands and insights about even having them at all.

Apparently the original Toyota stainless running boards have had rusting problems and the factory wasn't even able to put them on my ordered truck. Anyway....

The Go Rancher Rugged Step with the grate-type 8" wide step would suit my purpose. Often I have very muddy and wet boots that will slip on the standard rubber insert of a nerf bar or running board like is on my present truck.

They are made by the same company that makes the nice Rancher Grille Guard that seems popular here and is of high quality.

(In fact, the blue link to "running boards" takes you to a page with the specific board in the tenth entry down from the top.)

Has anyone tried these steps? They came out in 2008. I'm also considering coating them in Line-X Xtra for even more durability.

Any information would be welcome before dropping $500 or so on them.

I don't know anything bout them BUT, another company is South Texas Outfitters. Probably makes a better step.

If you want, I'll dig up some pics.

Thanks, I'd appreciate seeing what they have to offer. Their website doesn't show them or indicate they make such an item. Maybe it is a special order or special fabrication.

Ya know man, I jumped the gun. Their running boards are actually a "platform step."

If you're still interested, let me know.

Here's a pic of the Ranch Hand version. Unfortunately, they don't make any for the Toyota

Thanks for the effort. That style isn't what I'm looking for.

I have a month before the truck arrives so maybe there are others that can give some guidance.

It's not hard at all to fab a mount for any running board. Just find someone with a welder or go to a welding shop, prolly charge you 50-100 bucks. In Texas at least tx real easy to find a welder, most charge by the hour.

Thanks for the feedback. It is not the mount that is the issue. Even with my limited welding skills a mount could be fabbed. Of course, a bolt on application would be preferred if available.

It is the choice of running board itself that is the question. The Go Industries set looks to be right for my application but I'd like some information from someone who has tried the boards. There is just not much information anywhere.

Also, the Iron Cross, Westin, Rampage, and Challenger products look decent but the Go appears to be very heavy duty. With a Line-X coating it should be bulletproof. Obviously, I'm looking for function over form.
