One way to roughly tell the power output potential of an amplifier is to look at the power fuse rating - if your amp really is a 300W amp (which I highly doubt), the fuse rating should be a minimum of 40 amps (12 volts x 40 amps = 480 watts times 60% efficiency typical for a class AB output circuit = 300 watts)

good info. Is there any way to run a 2 channel amp at 2 ohms with a single voice coil sub?

There are a couple ways to "push" a little more power out of an amp. Running a fan to get more air flowing on the heat sinks (fins) will allow things to go a little further before the current limit kicks in. Naturally the heaviest and shortest wire to the battery possible is best to minimize voltage drops. I once pulled apart an old Carver amp and added computer grade capacitors to the output rails, right where the final output transistors drew their power....more than four times the capacitance in total....to really let the output transistors get some power to the woofers.

Ok I noticed that if I covered my port the box sounded 10X better.. haha ohh well it was worth the try.

I also ran the amp its own power source(8ga). It was sharing a 10ga wire from a small amp that fed the highs. Im really getting nice booming lows now. With the new wire and closed box.

Do you guys think the baffles inside the box need to come out? I just covered the port on the outside with a plate and some silicone/screws. (I also painted the box black)

sealed its staying one new problem now. The POS urban amp im using to drive the sub shuts down when the I have the volume 3/4's of the way(sometimes). The only way it resets is to turn the radio/key off and back on. I ran the setup threw a Kenwood Cd thats got some kool tracks on there to simulate all kinds of frequencies. I have all the gains setup so I can turn the volume to max and it does not distort. I dont get why the amp is shutting down at 4 OHM's

I just won a new/used Alpine amp on Egay , Its an Alpine MRP M450. It puts out 220 watts @ 4 OHM's . I think this is going to make a huge difference.
I will post some more pics when I get it installed.
