Default Factory Clock not keeping time

Hello,
Yesterday I installed a new stereo system in my 08 Tundra. I used the wire harness sent with head unit from Crutchfield. It seems that my factory clock doesn't keep the correct time now. Is the factory clock tied into the stereo harness maybe? I did a search and couldn't find anything.....
I know a lot of you guys have replaced your head units, anyone have any problems like this? Got any ideas???

Thanks!

Ahh, I was wondering when this thread topic would start again. What you more than likely have is the clock that loses time when it gets hot. I had mine replaced and if they did it at all it still loses time. If I leave my windows rolled up on a hot day in the sun I can lose a couple hours a day. As far as I know it is not related to the radio. I live with it as I don't want my dash ripped apart. I don't believe my clock was ever replaced since it was losing time again immediately and there was no evidence the dash had been tampered with.

Yep, it loses time, but not when it is hot in my case. Most of the time it keeps perfect, then for no reason, it starts to slow down maybe a few minutes, maybe 10-15 minutes, then sometimes a full hour or more. I just reset it and don't have that problem for a few months. Crazy or what?

So, to answer your question, I don't think your problem is linked to the stereo headset, but I am sure the experts will tell in time.

Well, I didn't have any problems until I installed the new stereo and was into the harness, My clock resets back to 1:00 every time the truck is shut off and the door is opened.
Out of the stereo there is a blue wire that went into a harness. I think that wire was cut and ran to my amp, I am thinking it should have been spliced going to the amp and to the harness. It is a constant I believe...it must be feeding back to the clock?????

Any more ideas?

Just checked fuses, my dome light fuse is blown. Don't have a schematic to know if the clock and dome light memory are on the same circuit or not....I sure hope so!!!!

I noticed the same thing this morning, the clock was off by 17 minutes?

No lie, just a few hours after I posted clock losing time due to heat, I went out to my truck to find I had forgotten to roll down the windows and I was parked in the sun and my clock had lost 1/2 an hour. Sounds like you have a different problem though.

Replaced the dome fuse tonight. Dome lights now work, security light is now flashing again, which I didn't notice it wasn't until then.....clock is also keeping time now between key cycles and opening door.
