Need get some tires, looking for AT. No plans to put on a lift, keeping it stock. I have narrowed it down to two.
1) Bridgestone Dueler Revo AT 275/65/R18
2) Toyo Open Country 285/65/R18. Be nice to go a little bigger and fill the well better.
Two questions;
1) Will the 285/65/R18 fit with no rubbing or trimming with the stock height?
2) Are any of these two tires difficult to balance? Right now my current tires are out of balance(wheel shake at speed) and I read some people having trouble with balancing on certain brands of tires. Not sure if it is any of the two I have listed.
The first number in the tire size is the width in MM, the second number is the percentage the height is of the width for the tire from rim to tread.
A 275/75 is taller that a 285/65... and so on.
Discount tire has a page where you can compare tire sizes and it gives the details of height, width and how much a certain size tire will effect the speedometer reading.
2005 Rockwood 26' 5'er, Michelin LTX MS tires, 270 watts of solar on the roof, 4 T-105 golf cart batteries, Xentrex converter, Outback FX2012T inverter/charger.
If you can't take it with ya, why bother with an RV!

Reason: 'cause someone dared me~
Just make sure whomever is doing the balancing has a Haweka Adapter. The lack of is what causes most of our balancing woes.

Well I've gotta go with revos.
We are comming out with a revo2 so they are trying to get rid of current inventory. Pretty sure you can get a good deal. I've already relievedy store of about 90% of my revos.
It's an excellent tire. Tread blocks spread far enough to sling mud yet still grip the road and it has a silica compound that enhances wet weather stick. Also has a 5* pitch for noise reduction so will be very quiet.

I went with the REVOs, used them before. Not sure what the differences are between the REVO and the REVO 2 except the price. Tread looks only slightly different and the REVO 2s cost about $30/tire more.
One thing I have always liked about the REVOs is that they don't pick up small stones like the BFG AT KOs. Once on the freeway at speed they fly out in front of the vehicle and end up hitting the wind shield.

Rocks fly out of your own tread and hit the windsheild? Man I guess anything is possible but dont think I have ever had that happen.

The Revos are decent tires but be prepared to get stuck a few times. My KOs will get me farther than my buddy's brand new Revos (20K miles vs about 1000).
He's also blown one tire b/c of a stick. I hit a stick and it just chipped the sidewall but not down to any of the plies.
Good luck. They're good tires but I've heard less than desirable things about treadwear. I will be getting the LTX M/S 2 next time around. About $250 a tire.

LTX M/S 2 ? IS that a new tire or did you mean AT/2?
Got AT/2 275/65 18 p rated, look is good and not wimpy like some have stated.
E rated if you haul allot and willing to sacrifice ride comfort.
Try discount tire, got a great price with 70 dollar mail in rebate to boot!

haha believe it or not, the LTX M/S 2. It's on DiscountTire's website but no pics are up.
The guy at NTB told me about it and then I tried to search for 'em. I can't find anything on them, even on Michelin's website. They are pretty much non-existent except for the name
