OEM Back Up Camera (need help)

I need help finding the OEM Back Up Camera P/N PT233-34070, I bought only the monitor from Sparks as the camera was out of stock, I e-mailed them yesterday to find out projected delivery date for the camera and they said that Toyota has discontinued them, because I think Toyota is going for the mirror display monitor, tried lots of places on the internet but as yet no luck, would like to install this one rather than return the monitor. Any suggestions.

I was looking for the backup camera also (it apparently is a part that is on national backorder with no ETA) and was referred to the site above. It takes the inventory of a bunch of participating dealers and lets you know who has it in stock, how many they have and if its been sitting for >30 days. Found it very helpful in locating a part I needed asap.

Note that most all of these dealers will sell it to you at full MSRP - they don't do a volume discount version like Sparks, etc does... I found one near me that reduced my shipping and was able to talk to the parts guy to knock a few $$$ off, but was still much more than Sparks sold it for. But when you need it, you need it.

Whew! I guess I got lucky ordering last month from Sparks. I have to tell ya with the 8' box this camera is great to have.

I saw one dealer selling the camera and monitor for almost $600, had like 5 left, but that is twice what Sparks sold the whole setup for.

Yeah, definitely lucky - I was bummed when I started researching what my setup would be it was available, two days later when I went to order it was gone and never came back.

My dealer Fred Hasse In Spring Texas ordered it for me and matched internet price of $325 for camera and monitor. Said there are not many left through dealers. Also Lobb Toyota in Mc Kinney Tx. has them on e-bay. Pretty proud of them though. I installed everything in about 35 minutes last night. Much more safe! Hope this helps.

Did you try the site I posted above in post #2 to locate one? I just logged in and searched again and found at least 30 - 40 of them left scattered around various dealers in the US.

Pasting this in will be messy, but I'm sure you can figure it out (or create a free account there and search for yourself and get if formatted nice and pretty). The 1 | or 2 | is the number of cameras their systems say they have in stock.

If it doesn't work, you can just call a few of those I pasted in the post above yours - it's the same data you'll get once you get a login (as of a week or so ago)

Thanks for the posted info. I stopped by the Vancouver WA store and bought the last one there. I was driving through on a trip to California. When I called the Bellevue WA store they said they were out. They mentioned that the Lexus dealer in Victoria BC had more than 10 left but I think they are charging $400 for just the camera. That's another option for those still looking for the camera.

my good friend (Toyota Service advisor) had to pull some major strings to find one at a dealer in TX (I'm in CO). He haggled him down to $240 shipped.

Don't expect to find them cheap anymore, like you could get from Sparks. The camera is discontinued. When the 09/10 Tundras came out, they went to a Gentex Mirror, with the built in LCD, like on the Tacomas. The wiring for the whole camera circuit is different now, from what I understand.
