I had an 06 DW Tundra which I really liked alot! One night as I was driving on a 2 lane highway, I came across a drunk driver. I was doing 60Mph and he was doing atleast that of faster. I noticed on a curve 2 headlights in my lane coming at me. As I tried to steer away from him, he would follow me. Fortunately at the last second I was able to avoid the headon, he caught the left from fender, then down the side. The frame was bent just behind the cab. The 2 drivers sive doors were about 2" thick afterwards. The rear end spring came thru the bed. My father and I were wearing our seatbelts and we walked away unharmed!!! The Tundra is an awesom truck. Now I have an 08 Crewmax. and the Legend continues!!
Look in my photo album at the Tundra vs Element . Yep, these Tuntras can take a hit . My son and I were fine, barely felt the hit. Both people from the Element were taken to the hospital in ambulances.

Wow dude glad you and your son were okay; whatever happened to your truck? Did you end up repairing it? - The damage seems like it earned the truck a salvage title!
Really sad to see wrecked Tundras :'(

I know a VERY good bodyshop. He used ALL new Toyota parts. 11K later and my Tundra was as good as new. I've put about 10k miles on it since the accident and you would never know it was hit. There was NO frame damage at all. Like I said, these things are TOUGH

I would just like to say these Tundras can definately take a hit. Unfortunately mine did just that when a guy hydroplaned on the highway and slammed into it on Friday. Thank god its still drivable and not my fault so hello insurance!
Look at wreck in my albums.
By the way if any of you who are looking at this thread and have not been in a wreck in your Tundra pray it never happens. It is an extremely SAD day. Good thing I was on my to a buddies bachelor party for the whole weekend!

Long story short: Icy conditions, overconfident in Tundras capability to keep me on the road after driving around in it all day, slid off the road and went through a ditch, 75' of barbed wire fence, and 3 rock fence columns. She took the hit so well and smooth, but wasnt driveable afterwards. I had lots of body damage and some suspension damage in the front. No frame damage. $20k in repair bills (paid by insurance, should have been totalled) and she was good to go. No problems since then.
