I have been looking at threads about the 5100's, and I think I might go that route. I really like the 3"/1" lift I had on my '08, and I'd a bit worried that I won't be happy with the 5100's at the 2.5" mark. I have not had much luck finding pics that compare a 2.5" with the 3" lift - does anyone have any? I am thinking that I might try to get a bit more lift by using a 1/4"-3/8" custom spacer (stell or maybe aluminum) at the top of the shock - any thoughs on this? Also, do these shocks act like the toytec lifts by preloading the spring?
I think these are a good way to go because I found them for $266 with free shipping for a set of 4. That is what I was planning on spending on a 3/1 spacer kit. I figure that I can find some blocks and a diff drop kit for about $100, so I can have way better shocks for only 100 more bones - seems like a good idea to me.
One more thing - how well do these work withthe non TuRD springs? I have read plenty about them withthe TuRD's, but nothing about the regular springs.
I have a 2.5" lift. It's not a Bilstein but an OME. Should give you an idea though. I put 1" blocks in the back to leave some rake. Had I not, it would have been exactly level. I am very happy with the lift. Pics in my album...

They are a tad bit stiffer than the stock shocks(non trd for me). I only have mine set to the 2nd setting(about 1.5in of lift) so I didnt do the diff drop or blocks in the rear. These do compress the springs but not with a spacer. They are kinda like a real coil over but cant be adjusted after you put the spring back on. You have to take them off to adjust them. Check out my photo album for photos.
That looks like it might work for me. I was just looking at my front shock mounts, and there is a ton of threads poking out the top of the mount, so I might try a spacer as well - I figure it shouldn't hurt anything by doing that.
voodoodan, i am putting my 5100 on this week mid setting also. have you had any negative effects not having a diff drop, did it realign ok anything i should look out for while doing the install.

All installed/aligned fine. Been installed for a year now with out any issues.
Fire_Mike, post where you get your diff drop kit and the 1" rear block. I'm looking for the same and do not know where to start. I put in an order for the 5100's on friday. I was looking at the Low-Range Off Road 3/1 kit, but decided on the Bilsteins at the last minute..... I am wanting to crank them all the way up.

If I go the 5100 route, I am going to make some small spacers (for the top of the shocks) out of plate steel (or maybe aluminum). That way I'll get back to the 3" of lift that I like in the front.
I know toytec sells the blocks and diff drop - it would be $100 for both before shipping. There are other diff drop kits out there that ore $10 cheaper, but they don't have the skid plate spacers.
Thanks...... if you go the 5100 route..... use "TEN" and see if you can get 10% off vice the 5% using the tundra code.... Remember that the sale is done at the end of the month.

Do you mean use TEN when buying from Toytec? If so, it doesn't work.
That works! Why is it that the whole kit costs $348, and when you buy it separately it is only $261? Makes no sene to me uless the kit comes with other stuff.
Yep !!! It's 25% off the whole kit which makes it $261, then you get the additional 10% which brings it down to $235. That's $26 you can apply towards the Diff drop kit..... yeah !!!
