What would you like to see changed when the Tundra gets a workover?
Here's my list:
- Give me some headroom (crewmax)
- Fix the stinkbug stance (nose too low)
- less plasticy interior
- 4x4 tires that will actually work offroad
Any other additions to the list?

Attention environmentalists, reduce emissions from this:
1 ton duel, and that means i want 500hp 500tq gas or 500 hp and 1000tq not the crap the big 3 pass off as motors, and i want the truck to be not much bigger than my current tundra. gas tank that does 400 miles at max towing. switchable from the cab 12 volts in the bed. more room under the front seats for my work boots.

A heavy 3/4 or 1 ton single wheel for me a diesel for the others. Put on paint that will last and not scratch so easy. Put in switch so all power to battery is killed if door or power drain starts to kill battery.
How about:
REAR SWAY BAR is standard
QUALITY SOUND SYSTEM
GET RID OF THE PLASTIC INTERIOR
CREATE A PROGRAMMER SINCE YOU MADE IT TOO DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE ELSE TO
REAR DUAL STRAIGHT OUT THE BACK EXHAUST as an option
SIGNED DEAL WITH VLEDS FOR ALL LIGHTS (HAD TO GIVE THIS SHOUTOUT)
BONUS for trading in a Tundra to get another one: 1/2 off on a SUPERCHARGER!

I would expect the heavier duty models to be part of the next gen. they were probably wise not to tackle heavier duty trucks right away.
As far as the other stuff, with the new mantra to build it your way. I'd like them to actually do it and instead of putting leds and sway bars on fleet trucks, why not just offer as options to the relatively small percentage who would pay for it.
I do think they are going to have to go to thicker steel in the bed and tailgate area if they want the work truck market.
A sport truck model would be nice with most of the things people here like already there.
I have to agree about raising the front stance, make the sway bar standard, and improving the interior a bit. Here are a couple more:
1. An additional "full time" selection for the transfer case like the Jeep 6cyl had. It had both locked and open selections for the center diff.
2. Outside access tool boxes to use some of the wasted space in the rear fenders. There is a LOT of wasted space there.
3. Fix the center dash display illumination so it is visible during the day.
4. Fix the fog lights to allow ON without the headlights.
5. Add an on/off switch to DRLs.

My thoughts exactly! I'd say if this is the best we can come up with then Toyota's done a pretty damn good job on our Tundra's. Toyota can't rest on their laurels though and must make continual improvements to stay ahead of the competition....as well as to give me a reason to harass my wife about letting me upgrade!

IMHO My Crewmax has the perfect stance and profile, in fact it's the only version of this truck that I think does. Not too fond of the overall shape and proportions of the DC and RC. I think something needs to be done with those two.
1) Interior: I want textured died plastics, not the flat, smooth spray-painted stuff in front of me now. Tiny mis-haps and mistakes leave marks and scratches on the door panels and dash. I could accidentally ash a cigarette on the dash or door panels of my 04 Dakota. I'd wipe it off, and it would be fine. If you aren't careful on the Tundra's interior those painted interior surfaces get cosmetic damage pretty easily.
2) Adjustable cupholders.
3) Crewmax rearseats would fold up for a flat load floor like in the DC, rather than folding down.
4) I know Toyota is all about silky-smoothness and whisper quiet interiors but I'd like a little growl and burble from the 5.7, kind of like you'll hear from the newer Tahoes and Escalades. I think we can get a better engine note without sacrificing too much of those low interior noise levels.
5) Probly not a good idea to have the 4wd knob be right next to the ones for the climate controls and feel almost the same. I am very afraid either I will have a brainfart or a front seat passenger won't be paying attention, someone will try to crank the AC, and I'll end up doing 40-45 mph in 4wd on flat pavement for a bit before I realize the mistake. I'd like to see the 4wd control and the button for the power rear window change places.
6) For some strange reason every single button on the interior of this thing is backlit at night except for the power sideview mirror adjust.
7) Gotta be something better we can do with the big grey plastic panel under the front bumper.
8) Not too fond of the Bridgestone passenger car tires that came on it. No place on a 4x4. They'll be replaced eventually with Dueler AT Revos or Toyo ATs but there are All Terrains that could be just as cheaply used on a mass production vehicle that will handle just as well with a more aggressive tread pattern. Even brand new right off the lot these things look like they don't have much tread to them at all and won't be good for more than 25-30 thousand miles.

3/4 ton!!!!! the current 5.7 drivetrain has enough power for what i tow, but i need a 3/4 ton capacity!
plastic interior that doesnt scratch easily, this is the cheapest interior plastic i have ever seen!
offer a real locking rear diff!!! The current traction control is a joke and i am certian only takes life from my brake pads!
tailgate thick enough that i could walk on like a real truck has!
Do you hear us toyota!!! Do you want me as a return customer?? Im the guy that bought a Double cab 8' bed truck because i need a larger truck, now give me a larger 3/4 ton truck!

Adjustable front cupholders (like my Titan and Dodge had)
A rear drop down arm rest w/cupholders (like my Titan had)
Change out that horrible red gauge cluster lighting to white (like my Titan and Dodge had)
Increase the lighting up on dash – lighting fades in sunlight or when wearing sunglasses
Put in auto up/down windows (like my Titan had)
Add DblCab electric rear window option (like my Titan had and CrewMax has)
Update the plastic to better quality so it doesn’t scratch just by "looking at it" harshly…
