Called my salesrep today about my touch-up paint he ordered, it's in,great "I'll see ya later today" says I. Before I hung up I mentioned the seatbelt chime didn't get Techstreamed away like we ageed on in the deal.He puts me on with a service guy, he tells me" we can't do that, it's against Federal Law". I say, ok,guess I'll try somewhere else and hung up.I get to the dealership. Jason the salesguy says "I went further up the foodchain for some answers." heres the scoop; if it's 'really' looked into, they're telling me "a warning has to be left in the system", well, they left the red light that flashes......thats the "warning" that I chose Don't know if other service departments will be this co-operative. Untill they prove me wrong, I'm thinking my dealership choice was as good as the truck I bought from 'em!
My dealer did it for me last year on the Techstream. Didnt give me any hassle at all. He also showed me all of the other things that could be changed, lots of good options.
I know a guy that works for a Lexus dealership. He could probably do it for me, right? Since Toyota owns Lexus

Yep, I had a pretty good list of stuff to either reduce, increase or disable. Told some guys at work about the features that can be changed on these trucks, they stood around and looked at me like my hair was on fire
Dealer techs were talking to me about my truck, how the liked it, how I should get the TRD supercharger etc....Took that opportunity to ask them which one of them could hook up the techstream. He plugged it in and we played around for about 10 minutes and "big brother" never found out about it.
Turned off the driver and passenger seatbelt chime, turned the key reminder volume way down, both doors unlock at one push, etc.
This is on an 08

Its a fancy laptop looking machine, more like a laptop than a snap-on MODIS module (which, btw, cannot edit these settings) but techstreams run windows like a laptop and connect to the car via dlc3 datalink connector

That's how it is on my 05 DC. The seatbelt light flashes, but there's no chime. I love it. Now I just need to desolder the light LED when I do my LED swap.
Why is everyone so concerned with disabling the seatbelt chime? If you wear the d@m thing it won't chime. Is that so bad? I can't tell you how many times I hear about some major car accident and the occupants ejected because they weren't wearing their Seatbelt. It just escapes me why people have such a hard time clicking the belt. I almost feel naked without putting mine on.
