Who is Interested in Diablo Coming out with a Hand Held Tuner for Your Tundra?
Just figured I would gauge everyone's interest in seeing Diablo come out with a hand held tuner for our Tundras. Diablo has said on their website that they may look into a held tuner for our Tundras, but wouldn't start until after SEMA. I figured it may help to see actual numbers and then I could post a link to this thread in their forum.
Can the mods keep this thread in this forum since it gets a lot more traffice then the peformance section?
Bye the way...I don't know anyone at Diablo or am not affiliated with them in any way. Just a Tundra enthusiast trying to a reputable tuner to come out with something for our trucks. It's been 3 years and we have nothing!

is their setup any better than the other junk(unichip and others) already available?
seems i read more horror stories related to chips than any other bolt on part and have yet to see any dyno charts that show any improvement.
Re: Who is Interested in Diablo Coming out with a Hand Held Tuner for Your Tundra?
I'll start off by saying that I am not an expert. With a piggy back tuner, like Unichip, you can only adjust A/F ratio and timing. A piggback gets permanently installed between the ECU and engine.
With a hand held tuner, like Diablo, you can adjust many parameters including the following: Axle Ratio ,Idle RPM Drive/Neutral ,WOT Fuel, Rev Limit Drive/Neutral, WOT Spark, Cooling Fan adjustment, Tire Size, Shift Points, Shift firmness, Autostick auto upshift enable/disable, ESP enable/disable, MDS enable/disable, TCM adaptive reset, and Speed limit adjustment. I got that info from Diablo's home page. With a hand held, you connect to the ECU and adjust the above parameters through the OBD-II port. Not saying Diablo could allow all of the above parameters on our Tundras but those are the parameters they are able to adjust on Dodge trucks.
Unichip is not as widely supported and it is difficult to get custom tuned. Diablo is much more widely supported and it is my understanding that it is a lot easier to get a custom tune.

Id be interested especially if shift points and firmness is adjustable. Also, I'd want to get rid of the SPEED LIMITER !!!

Although I have the Unichip and hope that it performs well when I reveive it mapped with my setup, I would buy one so that I am able to adjust so much more. My bro has a Diablo Trinity that is very nice and user-friendly. The cost would be much better than the Unichip I would think since the Predator version made for the Rams is around $300 or so.

Keep bugging Diablo guys. Even be good to go onto their site and post that you are interested. Their responses seem to be getting more positive since people have been showing more interest.
Here is the latest post on the subject:
"I feel you.
We have seen what the stock 5.7 does on the dyno, and it is a monster in stock form, but there is surely room for improvement.
There are a few of us pushing for this here, stay tuned.... "
