I am SICK of fixing my 07 F-350. 110k 3 injectors, head gasket, wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, alternator, ball joints. Enough is enough. No I do not want a GMC, or a dodge. I want a 1 ton toyota with a turbo diesel. PLEASE!
That's about the only thing that'd get me to trade in my 07', but I stopped holding my breath...we are in for a long, long wait...if ever.

Don't know about the Ford, but I know how the Duramax has "evolved" over the past few years thanks to the EPA. I can't imagine Toyota seriously considering bringing a diesel into this segment until the others have the bugs worked out to meet emissions. They'll sit back, watch and learn, and then consider it again if/when the market/technology are there.
Just getting a full size half ton on the market was a major effort for Toyota. They do not build anything that big anywhere else in the world. The chances of a them building a 1 ton diesel or gas are basically zero unless the market changes a lot.

Toyota has been dealing with diesels longer than GM has I believe. HINO, a subsidiary of Toyota is on of the largest diesel manufactures in the world. Toyota would not have a problem implementing a one ton diesel into their lineup.
Put me in line, I went through the same with Ford and GM Diesels. Even a light duty diesel in the current crewmax, I don't like dually rears anyways as it is a PITA to park. I won't hold my breath, it took toyota decades to get a decent size truck to the USA (as previously stated).
I am trying to be positive. It would a wonderful time to release one. Hit dodge and chevy while they have their pants down. Gm is looking for more bailout money. Drop the hammer on them and release a truck that would blow away the competition. I am so sick of my ford I can't even tell you. What is the payload capacity on a new Tundra? I am pretty torn here. If I quit with the Ford I will have to buy an older 12 valve cummins for a work truck. (as I have a 20,000# trailer to yank around) Just some reg cab long box work truck. So that leaves me with a Tundra for my driver. Will it haul around my slide in truck camper? Prob not. So then I have to sell my truck camper. See thats why toyota needs to make us a diesel. Anyway enough ranting. I picked my ford up from the shop again last night. Lets roll the dice on when another injector will go out.
Toyota used to have a little diesel pickup in the states.
You could get them in 3/4 or 1 ton.
They were like a older Tacoma with a long bed.
The last year they made was 1984? Maybe 85?
They rusted away before the motor ever stopped.
Hauled anything you wanted and got 40 - 50 mpg.
Yep... theyre called a Hilux and they are still made overseas and they still are diesel and still kick butt.... I have some friends that have imported them and love them to death....
