Re: The LSD thread, should we proceed?
I know we are taking one step at a time starting with the rear end but I am also interested in a Type 1 for the front as well.

Not locked in front. Give me the ARB.
it depends what you do with your truck. if its a DD, you probably dont want to drive around in 4x4 all winter. nor would you want to be taking all the corners in town with a locked diff. if you drive off-road alot in the mud. then locker all the way.

Re: The LSD thread, should we proceed?
Yes. Build them.
What about a Type 2-R? Would it be comparable in price to the Type 1 or closer to the $500 price tag of the Type 2?
I'd be interested in a Type 2-R for $500.

Re: The LSD thread, should we proceed?
The T2-R could be another good option. It does eliminate the lifted wheel loss of perfromance...

I'm in Brian, a kit with bearings, marking lube and shim packs would be a welcomed thing to the Tundra community.

Re: The LSD thread, should we proceed?
A couple of shop estimates were in the $300 range. It could be more or less depending on how close the backlash is when installing. Just so we have a real HIGH side, I'll ask one of the Toyota techs what Toyota pays for the job.
