Don't quite understand why you have to get the truck in so deep. I can launch my 20ft pontoon boat and barely get my tires wet. The trailer has 14 inch wheels. I would be more worried about getting the drum parking brakes wet than getting the exhaust in the water. I think you would do well to get your trailer tongue extended or look for a different launch ramp.

Whenever launching a boat, I would stop right when the rear tires barely hit the water. There is really no need to go so deep. Salt water will ruin your wheel bearings and rust any metal parts and I got my boat trailer to prove it. I've been boating for almost 10 years now and this is how I always launch it.

Might just be the grade of the ramp youre using.
It's a small world! What are the chances of 3 people from little old Jupiter being on the same site! Wow!

I have had to put mine in pretty deep, my boat is a very heavy deep V boat on a bunk trailer, it has to be floating a little to slide off. Sucks but I really have no choice, pretty much all the ramps in my area are the same.

[I] cant see it on a tundra, bet have had to many times with some 2wd truck. Doesn't hurt anything you would have to go real far in to get the water to reach inside the muffler. I try to let the trailer axles cool before I dunk it, especially when we just made the 300 mile drive and it's 108 on the ramp!
