Made a comical remark on a corn feed supercharger thread. The post wasn't just banned it's completely gone, now if I spent all that money for a supercharger & it wouldn't work guess I'd be a little ticked myself. I know this sounds crazy, but I would trust my dealer to make thangs right, I trade with Ray Brandt & have bought toyota's dodge's & nissan's from the dealer and he's alway's made thangs right, or at least his people have. As far as flex fuel goes, how does all that corn get turned into somethan you can kinda put in your gas tank. How much fuel does it take to do this? Yea I know Brazil uses sugar cane waiste to make fuel, but that's a whole different story. Soooo now ya got a bunch of flex fuel TUNDRA'S with supercharger's? Thought everyone had woke up and got rid of the flex fuel scam. Made food cost go up as high as gas prices, wonderful idea.
We don't have ethanol down here in SE Louisiana, but I haven't seen any cheap gas either. Sure am glad I don't need premium, now that would be expensive, along with a trd package with a 6000$ SC on top of the engine that doesn't work, yea I'd be a little pi$$ed.
The simple problem is Flex Fuel Tundras are currently not compatable with superchargers. Who knows why?
But if I bought a Tundra with the express idea in mind of supercharging it (using equipment that Toyota developed specifically for the 5.7 engine) and then was told I can't do it because I was provided with a Flex Fuel vehicle which I didn't order, I would be extremely unhappy.
That thread last night however went a little over the top in threatening lawsuits, and it was clearly destined to not last very long. In fact I saw the Mod (no blame to you by the way, you've got to do your job) was reading the thread the last time I checked, I'm sure it vanished quite quickly thereafter

Can't blame the moderator for canning the thread,it was out of line for sure. There are no flex fuel gas stations to my knowledge in southeast louisiana. Every now and again you see a pick-up with a flex fuel emblem on the tailgate. My question is why would you buy a truck that has a flex fuel emblem on it if you planned to put a SC on it. Note to self, if I hit the lottery and go buy a loaded out 2010 tundra don't buy one with the flex fuel option.

Didn't Jamie from TRDSparks say that the injectors are bigger that non Flex Fuel vehicles and so the SC injectors don't fit in the hole?
To bad it doesn't run with the flexfuel. I want a SC also for my propane running 5.7 L. And if it could run on ethanol why not with propane.
I've talked with the guys from TRD if it could be done using propane with a SC. They said to me that they wanted to develop a SC for alternative fuels. But at that moment they said don't do it. My guess was if it could run with flexfuel i'll give it a try.
propane should be for gas grilles and RV fridges....ethonal has no place that is proper....
only gasoline should be burned in a real truck...or car....(unless its a diesel of course, then just give us regular diesel fuel not all that super low sulfur crap). gasoline is what cars were invented with, lets stick to it, stop tree hugging and crap. no electric, no propane, no corn sh!t, nada but good ol gasoline. and while im on it, dont give us these motors that we buy a 8 cylinder motor and it decides it only wants to use half of them "to save fuel". dammit, if i wanted to save fuel id by a prius...i want to burn fuel and haul crap the way its meant to be done.
ok im off my soap box...anyone wanna borrow it for a while?
The "energy per gallon" from the corn squeezin's is lower than gas, so with an SC it would be a major size upgrade to get enough fuel to make that huff n pull mo-sheen produce power... corn squeezin fuel is just another tUrd those pinhead politicians have jammed down our throats. If they ever actually had an intelligent idea their heads would explode which is why they baaa like sheep and follow their party leaders instead of representing US like they should be.

I'll agree and disagree, just on general principles. Electric car? sure, a diesel-electric hybrid would be wonderful. I've read about the "Tesla" car, and it sounds pretty damn good, only I don't have an extra 100,000 lying around. Low sulfur diesel is not a problem, just like unleaded gasoline wasn't a problem, the technology is still young for now.
Depending on which zip code you input when you try to order a 5.7 Tundra, you might not be able to spec it without Flex Fuel, especially if you want DC, short bed, 4X4, limited trim: try 55605 if you don't believe me, you can't get it, and other zip codes allow that combo but ONLY in Flex Fuel (although you can get the Non-Flex if you change some other parameters) Arrgh frustrating. Good thing I'm not ready to trade in my truck yet.
But ethanol only has one useful purpose as far as I know, and that's for drinking.
