I need help with a few things. (First post by the way)
I have a Year 2000 TRD model Tundra.
I am looking to upgrade my headlight housing. Where is a good place to find some? I've been to a few places but I can't find any that look good.
Second, after I buy the new housing I would like to upgrade to HIDs or something similar, in the highs, lows, and fog lights. What do I need for each of those? (a friend of mine tells me I won't need a any sort of conversion kit, but I'm not so sure)
Welcome to TS MatthewMou you can buy replacement headlights on ebay a few members have and had no problems with them
i would'nt reccomend upgrading to hids without really affecting oncoming traffic (blinding) i upgraded to better quality halogen bulb (piaas)
upgrading to hid is a cheaper alternative but i wouldnt do it jmo
reason being you may affect oncoming traffic thats the reason i havnt done my 00
im going to retrofit my headlights eventually but for now im happy with the light output of my piaas in both my driving and foglights till i upgrade jmo :becky:
I just replaced the housings on my 05 with units bought from Ketech, LLC. The swap went fine so that's not too big a deal. HID would need a different reflector/assembly for sure in my mind. The bulbs on my truck are shielded.
welcome to the wonderful burden of owning a yota. pretty much NO aftermarket support. ive got HIDs in the stock housings "heads and fogs" and i dont get high beamed that often and i dont really care because that means i am seen at night. plus you get blinded by all those blingin high end cars with projectors anyways.
its all a matter of opinion. i ran the most expensive piaa bulbs you can buy and i still got high beamed, you cant go wrong with hids.
heres where "most" get their HIDs from. including me. they are an outstanding product. http://www.ddmtuning.com/

I've actually owned the truck for many years. My Uncle sold it to me a while back, he was a truck lover (as am I). The truck is in fantastic shape for it's age and use.
I have noticed that there isn't much after market presence. I can't find any headlights that fit that look much different from stock.
It's funny though, after posting this, my passenger side fog light went out. =D

not gonna argue, projos are better. id rather spend a grand on somethin else and i dont drive much at night. hell my truck is parked with the batt tender on it at the moment. wont get to drive it for another 6 months
but if you do spend the money for piaa bulbs your still gonna blind "someone" all you old farts that cant see at night will still get mad

I have a 2007 Tundra and put in a pair of H10 3800k bulbs that are horrible (I was told they would be great). So I am looking for something brighter that won't require a relay or wiring mods. I need extra light for night driving in canyons in Utah. I have seen some use an 80w 2006 blub, others use Sylvania and others recommend the H10 series. Which models will fit the fog lights and which produce the most lumens. I don't care about looks, just about being able to see!
usshelena not sure what bulb size on 2007 and dont want to give you the wrong advise i prefer piaas but thats just me ive tried fat bobs, ipf, hella, sylvania, and a lot of different japanese brands but always go back
jmo on piaas there are other alternatives out there
this old fart :codger: has been been using that brand since my 1st toy back in 89 :behindsofa:
i never blinded anyone with my tundra (11 years now) its level and have never been high beamed living in los angeles they let you know enuff said :becky:
