i bought a 2010 DC 4x4 last august and only have 3500 miles (i'm in the coast guard and deploy every 2 months).....when i bought the truck the finance manager was talking me into buying the extended warranty and was giving me examples of where it would benefit me. one of the examples he used was a personal experience he had where his toyota was on a hill (we live in the BAY area and the hills are everywhere) and when he let off the brake it started rolling back. He told me that it wasn't supposed to happen to the newer toyota's so when i first got my truck i tested it out and when on a hill i would let off the brake and it wouldn't budge, that is until last week when i was on a big A$$ hill in San Fran and as soon as i let off the brake it immediately started rolling back.
Is this not supposed to happen and that's what i get for listening to a finance manager or do i have a legit problem that i need to bring it in for.....along with my pedal recall!
I have had my 07 crewmax on hills before and it would not roll back. I haven't checked it lately though. By the way I served aboard from 88-96 SEMPER PARATUS!!!!!!

Thanks. i'm probably going to get it checked out. i didn't join until 20 years after you got out, but judging by the boat i've been on for the last 3 years....not much has changed! haha.

Thanks for checking this out.
Not to make you look stupid.. did you remember to turn the steering wheel accordingly when parking on the hill?
The 4runner has the anti-rollback thing, but I don't think the Tundras do.
It feels very hard on the tc to kinda "ease" back to the line.

Yeah,I'd hate to have a standard transmission now too. Since the beancouters have moved 8 out of 10 parkingbrake levers to the floor instead of at the driver's right hand where it belongs.Gone are the days when we could hold the button down on the lever and use it's braking to hold the vehicle when moving from a stop on a steep hill. These days they've limited the parking brake to ONE use. Then again, some of the 'stunts' I see people commit on the roads, maybe it's for the best.
i prefer the brake in the floor where it belongs, at least in a truck. i pulled our boat up a boat ramp all the time when i had my standard silverado... u just have to know how to drive it ahaha. the parking brake can be a friend on hills but its not necessary....

Sure did...there's still a 213 around. CGC Acushnet it's got the gold hull #'s and is supposed to be decommisioned in the near future.
I know the Acushnet, Looks like they have changed the classes around now they have a lot of go fast boats and homeland security boats. Last time I was in the Bay area I rented a hyundai and that little go cart couldn't hardly make it up the hills thought I was going to get pulled over for going to slow.
