Re: Alarm Install - Ideas for 9 Auxiliary Channels!!!
Started another thread so we didn't go down two paths in one thread. I hate that. The other thread is really about the new alarm from Directed. This one is only about alarm auxiliary channel uses.
You were joking about the air bags but I thought about it practically and it could be used for a Heavy Load airbag for goosenecks / fifth wheels.
I was thought of the path lighting from your strobes idea. I then realized I probably don't want strobes every time I drop my keys in the dark, etc...
Exhaust_Depot, the ejection might be useful if I had a GF in the seat when my WIFE comes around the corner. I could blind her with the strobes while the GF is ejected! lol...

I think the best thing would to spend valentines weekend watching all the old Bond flicks and adding things like smoke screen, oil sprayer, machine guns and the like to your truck

Seems to me like your planning your future around the hopes that you'll buy the next generation Viper Alarm that will have 9 aux channels....
9 channels seems like a lot, but you should also consider the practicality of scrolling through 9 functions. The 5901/5902 has 4 aux channels and you have to click and scroll through those four, then select one with those very small buttons. iPhone connectivity will make using those 9 aux channels more easy.
You've got great ambitions with filling your list of 9, but also think about the cost of each control module and the install cost of populating each aux function.... You'll hit big bucks before you know it, unless you're doing it yourself.
What would really be a twist on events is if you have your truck completely controlled electronically with your remote, with nine different "kewl" capabilities, and someone breaks into your truck because you didn't include a $30 glass break sensor.
Your logic would forceast that you'll be starting another VIPER thread wanting to discuss the practicality of each sensor -- you may to think about taking this to the electronics forum -- you might get more responses there.......
Good luck !!!

You got it! I am certainly planning my future around an alarm the has not yet been released. Lucky for me, I am banking on it coming!
You bring up a good point with the scrolling. I will have to prioritize correctly.
The 9 IS ambitious. That is the point of this thread! The modules are not too bad and I have a reasonable installer and I am not afraid to get into wiring myself. I would just PREFER to leave it to the pros.
I hope you are not wishing something bad upon my truck with the "twist of events" bit! Just in case, I already have most modules wired in to the truck, just waiting for a alarm brain.
Already been through the threads on the practicality of each sensor. Those threads have already been started. What hasn't been started is a thread about cool uses of the auxiliary channels. If it offends anyone, I suggest they read no further but I suspect you are not offended as you have contributed some great ideas!
I think this forum is the appropriate place for the "ideas for the truck." If you are correct and I start a thread for help installing each channel's accessory, that would appropriately be started in the Electronics forum. If any moderators disagree, please feel free to move (I am not quite sure how to do that on my own). Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback! I like it all!

Re: Alarm Install - Ideas for 9 Auxiliary Channels!!!
I have 5 on mine... 1 "trunk" and 4 AUX
trunk button will control two 528T timing modules that will in series unlock, pop, and relock the tailgate
AUX 1 controls the bed light and the new bed lights I'll add this spring
AUX 2 will control new puddle lights that will be added in the spring (offering dual control)
AUX 3 and AUX 4 are still open. I might use 3 for turning on the recirc function when remote started and 4 will probably be to force the aftermarket heated seats on in the event I forgot to flip the switch.
