    Default Tundra CB Antenna Mount

Has anyone found or fabricated a cb antenna mount to be located around the tailgate/taillight area. I just don't want to drill a hole in a new truck and I'm not a huge fan of magnetic mount antennas. I'm thinking maybe something that might slip between the tailgate and the fender'taillight.

Here's a selection of styles. One of these may work for you.
    CB Radio Antenna Mounts

The Firestik SS-204A Stainless Steel Door Jam Mount looks promising.
Or perhaps the Firestik SS-274a Hood/Trunk Groove Mount just below it.

I mount mine on the front edge of the rear passenger side door using a very slightly modified trunk mount. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow and see if I can remember where I got it.

    Looks sorta like this!!!

The mount is a slightly modified Comet 840 trunk mount. It requires one tab to be removed, not a big deal. The clearance is VERY close on opening the front door but it works. Here is a link to it.

So do people still talk on these CB radios? What do you do, talk to truck drivers?

The answer is yes, they still do. I seldom do, mostly just listen for road conditions. Mine is installed so it is a 5 minute job to install or remove both the radio and the antenna.
I have two customers that use them as part of their security system. I call their guard shack on the way in & out of the plant to let them know where I am going. It saves having to stop and sign in every time.

Sounds like a good enough reason to me. I'm just giving you guys a hard time

CB's are great when your out in the middle of nowhere and there are no cell phone towers to pick-up your call. Transmissions are free all day long.

I've heard rumors that cats can hear 27 MHz.

I don't think so. I was matching an antenna the other day and they didn't even wake up!
