Default 60 HP with a GFI chip? Anyone done a "chip" mod?

Saw an ad on another forum for GFI chips that advertise a simple plug n play 60 hp blah blah blah... Viable? Anyone try it? For $70 I'm tempted, but thought I'd check here first.

it normally sells for $399. this is such a great deal how could you go wrong?!

and for a limited time, we'll super-size your order with 2 performance chip kits ...

but wait .. there's more .. for the first 100 customers, we will include not one but THREE sham-wows.

and if you order in the next 5 MINUTES, we will super-duper size your order and ship you not just one, not just three but SIX shamwows ..

you just pay separate shipping and handling for each product

Should have known better than to post up the stupid. Taking my flame suit off and going home. So you can re program the computer with two wires going to a sensor? Uh huh...

For anyone wanting to understand this a bit more:

As noted above you can not "reprogram" the ECU from the intake air temp sensor. What you can do is manipulate the ECU to think it is running in extreme environmental conditions to get it to alter the AFR and ignition advance. There is NO way you will be able to pick up 60 hp from this, however I am sure you can impact the way the ECU operates the motor.

This is a similar approach to altering the diameter of the MAF housing. If you increase the cross sectional area at the MAF sensor additional air will slip by the sensor, causing it to report reduced load which yields increased ignition advance and leaner AFR. The problem is in closed loop mode the ECU will figure out something is up and it will fuel trim out the AFR changes. Dyno plots of these gains are typically only accurate for a few miles, as the ECU starts to compensate quickly.

The other common chip is the throttle position chip. What this does it causes the throttle position sensor to report greater voltages than it normally would for a given position. This means the ECU thinks you have depressed the peddle further than you have, which makes the truck feel more responsive. The truth is this is just a feeling, although people will swear by it and have strong opinions about running it. I have customers who know it is basically a placebo effect, but they like the way it feels and request it to be so.

Brutal and priceless at the same time! Now we will have a hard time engaging him in the literal sarcasm this brought on...we are laughing with you and not at you.

First off, dropping the price from $400 to $70 doesn't sound right. Any other "chip" out there really has to be "tuned" to your truck to really get anything out of it. Who would tune this (if it's even tunable). Not so sure I would waste my time. Take the $70 and fill up your gas tank.
