Default Smartphone Apps Used with your Tundra

There seems to be a scattering of apps mentioned that members here use in their vehicles. Just going to start a thread to put them all in one spot for people to check out and give feedback on. Also note what phone you are using the apps on, specifically Android or Apple based.

    Verizon Wireless Droid 1

    #1 Pandora Radio
Free music that you program the stations for. It learns your likes and dislikes in music. Awesome app. Unlimited skips and no commercials for $36 a year. As soon as my Tundra gets here I will upgrade to the pay level Pandora One. ETA: You can use this app on your laptop or desktop too.

    #2 Mileage
Used for tracking gas mileage and operating cost of fuel
Mileage ~ Android Application v3.0.8 By Evan Charlton | Finance

    #3 Navigation
Just like it says, free GPS navigation that is self updating. Uses Google maps and has yet to steer me wrong.
    Google Maps Navigation for mobile

    #4 Weather Bug
GPS based weather app that gives you current conditions, weather alerts, and forecasts.
Weather for Google Android Smartphones - WeatherBug

    #5 Trapster
Yes, I am a cop, and yes I use this when working and when off duty. Yes it used for drivers to tell other drivers where radar is being run on the roads. However, it has many other notifications as well. I use it to show wrecks, road hazards, school zones, ect. It is like gas buddy as it depends on user input, but a cool app none the less. Available for both Android and Apple devices.
Speed Trap Sharing System - Trapster

I have more, but I'll give others a chance to share some input.

I only use two when in my truck, and both have to do with fuel...

You mentioned the Mileage tracker that I use already.

    The other is GasBuddy.

Both of these are on Android.

The only other thing I've used irregularly is the Google Navigation.

    Good thread.
I to use Android with US Cellular, best coverage in this area.
I use Pandora (free version) at work on the computer and mobile on my phone. It is very good once you've used it to select several bits of music you like. It just needs to learn your preferences.
Like you said Gas Buddy is nice, if there are enough folks using it to fill out the info.
I have been experimenting with some hypermilage techniques to save some bucks. The milage tracker sounds like an awesome way to keep an eye on the results. That will be loaded today.
Trapster is another one that's going in ASAP. We travel a fair amount, so it should come in handy for all kinds of warnings.

I used to use "TrackIT - vehicle edition" on my Blackberry for mileage, gas, and maintenance.

I now use an iPad for apps since it is my newest electronic gadget
I have "MPG with ads" (free version) to track mileage, fuel ups, and maintenance
I have "GPS Drive HD w/motion-X" for navigation duties
Of course the "Google Maps" that came on my iPad is good for locating places.
I have "MyRadar" for weather maps

I'm thinking pretty seriously about buying an OBD II diagnostics program that can also read and graph most parameters tracked on board. The software on the app store is $50, and the wifi enabled OBD plug is around $99... Anyone have any experience or recommendations with this type of setup?

I use aCar for my gas mileage and maintenance tracking, very useful and lots of statistics.

    Pandora for music.

CarCast for podcast management and playback, mainly listen to CarTalk.

I have GasBuddy installed, but don't really use it that much.

Would like to get the setup KFXBRYAN has, but haven't yet.

    Cool stuff guys.

Another app for your Android phone is "Latitude":

    Google Latitude

This allows you to share your location with selected contacts in real time and to ping your selected friends. The wife and I use this a good bit when I'm picking her up from work or she is fixing dinner and looking to see how far out I am without calling. I also use this with some of my police buddies across the country. You can choose how much location info you share with each individual contact too. I've been off because of the hell weather that hit around here yesterday. The wife kept up with me at work while her and the kids were hunkered down in the basement. Think keeping up with older kids with this too.

The Queen is a nurse. If she suspects anything I will be shot full of something in my sleep that will have me drooling and crapping myself for a week. Not worth it bro. That, and I really out kicked my coverage.

This app is kind of costly but really is nice for keeping my truck secure! Viper Smart Start security system.
It allows me to start my truck from anywhere and especially important is, it text me if the alarm goes off!
I also use a docking station in the truck for my HTC Evo and use it exclusively for my navigation, even when I know my destination. (Garmin is still better for route guidance)
The reason is that with Google maps you can use a traffic layer and it will show you traffic slowdowns on your route, so I frequently will adjust my course with this information,
It has saved my butt from sitting at a stop more times than a radio report, which is usually too late.

When I had my truck, I used Dynomaster for Android. It was a neat app for 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. Now it is a useless app for me

No it isn't, you just need to swap the stopwatch component with a calendar.

(sorry brother, couldn't help myself )
