Default Air Pump Assemblies/Air Switching Valve Warranty Enhancement

Forgive me it this has already been posted, I've been away for a while. I just got my notice in the mail that Toyota is extending the warranty on the Air Pumps/Switch Valves to 10 yrs, 150,000 miles on 07-10 Tundras and 08-10 Sequoias. You can also file a claim if you paid for repairs.

Maybe these forums did some good? Though I don't have the problem, I learned about it on TS about 6-8 months ago.

I had this problem, took it to the dealership and had them replace both air pumps. A week later i notice a noise under the dirverside floorboard, it sounds like a leaf flapping in the wind. You can only hear it when you accelerate and not when the truck is parked or in neutral. I took it back into the dealership told them what I was hearing and thought it make a be an exhaust leak or starter issue, but it turn out neither of those nor could they pin point the where the noise was coming from. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I just got my letter. Thanks TS!! I'd mention everyone by username but it would take up too much space. Here is the original thread (all 98 pages and 1470 posts):

Take a look at your skid plate. There are three screws that secure the bottom of the front bumper to the skid plate. They are easily stripped out. If these screws are missing the plastic will flap in the wind as you drive. Dealers are famous for forgetting to put back all the parts that they removed.......

While you're at it, please do yourself a favor and find a better dealership. You obviously do not want to take your truck back there for some incompetent techs to play with.

The only change that I know of is that they redesigned the plastic air intake piece so it supposedly won't allow water in. I seriously doubt it will make any difference at all.

I own a 2005 Tundra and am currently experiencing a faulty air switching valve. I see the warranty enhancement is for 2007-2011Tundras, has any with an older model been through the repair process?

Mine is currently in the shop an during the repair, when removing the intake manifold they broke off a stud and are now trying to charge me $1800 to remove the exhaust manifold, drill out and retap the stud.
