Toyta Techstream V7 clone - $35

One of the members on the TT forum found a diagnostic cable that comes with a clone of the Toyota Techstream V7 software for $34.99. That's about $1500 less than Toyota's price. Here's a link to it:

I ordered one too, but I just noticed that the URL to download the software is broken... Has anybody been able to download it?

The software is supposed to come on a CD with the cable, but just to be safe I downloaded it from here.

Nope. For a quick 50HP, you need this.

does this mean if someone hacker savvy could take one of the ecu calibration packets,
and modify it like a custom base map?

I don't think so. This is basically the same thing that the dealer tech's use to diagnose problems. It does a few settings, but not a whole lot.

right but you can send ecu calibration packets to the ecm, like the one for a S/C. in theory that calibration could be modified to what ever, right?

i wonder if its worth updating my version of TIS to the v7 ?? i think mine is v6something.

Anythings possible, the issue is cracking open and modifying the calibration files before you upload it to the truck and I would think if it was easy the aftermarket companies would of already been all over this a long time ago but I could be wrong too. Its the same as when you upgrade to the supercharger and they flash the ECU with the supercharger calibration files.
