NOT MY WEEK - another tundra issue

first this week i had to buy a new 4 wheel drive switch because my 2 year old lost the spring out of mine when i was changing out the leds. Now I had an air freshener hanging from my gear shifter.Well today i noticed it has melted my console. A new one shows to be $140 from TRD sparks. Anybody know what the exact color the console is? Also, any ideas where I might find a used one?

I'd look into the carbon fiber wrap. You could do the entire dash for $40 bucks more.

i agree with the above, or bondo, sand, paint some good color! what do you have to loose?

i wonder why it melted like that? didnt it come in a thin plastic package?

the cord of the air freshener melted it but yes it came in a plastic pack. What color would you paint it? Can't find the oem color to match it. Anybody got any pictures of tundra's with the dash kits? I'm not a fan of the regular wood look.

color match would look ok, i see your interior is black, so gloss jet black would look really nice IMO.
i will find the company i bought my color match paint from. it was like $20 a can i think, but was high quality, and a perfect match.

you will need a clear coat also, the stuff they sale was the best clear coat i have ever used. very forgiving!

you think it would look funny having that part black and the gauge cluster trim and trim around 4 wheel drive knob the gunmetal stock trim color?

I doubt you'll be able to match it just right. I think I'd just wait until I could pay for the replacement panel or put a kit over the top. I can't believe it melted like that man. Sucks!

i was thinking color match the truck (my bad), and also was thinking painting all the silver.
i have thought about doing it to mine with no imperfections. i know its probably not for everyone.

be careful w/ those little air fresheners, even in your home. I had the oil spill out of one onto a oil base painted surface and it removed the
paint. As mentioned previously too, the ones for cars will eat right thru the plastic trim on vehicles. The car wash guys put one in the console and it smelled like crap. When I found it, I pulled it out and it had already embedded itself in...
