My 4.6L gets around 14 mpg with 90% city driving. On a recent 240 mile trip (all freeway), I got 19.5 mpg driving 65 mph. Stock size tires, tow package (4.10 gears), 4WD. I suggest you visit the Ford enthusiast sites and see what owners of the EcoBoost are reporting for mileage. Also, visit Fuelly | Share and Compare Your MPG and search for F-150 trucks.

I am getting 15.5 to 16.1 mpg in the city with mine. Best highway is 18.5 with a 500# load in the bed (~75mph). I have hand calc'd and compared with the computer. The computer is accurate to within 0.1mpg from my experience.

    2011 DC 5.7
Last road trip I averaged 16.5 (couple weeks ago)
City I get about 13 average. I also find that my computer is within .1-.2 of my hand calculations.

I just got back from a 1,500 mile round trip and about 1,000 of that was highway. I got 19 on the away trip running about 65-75 that was 414 miles on that tank. Next tank with a lot of running around half and half city/highway I got 17, that was 354 miles on that tank. Then on the return trip running 75+ with a strong head wind(15-20 mph) I got 16.8 that was 251 miles.

Over all over the last 3,500 miles which is probably 50/50 highway city has averaged about 17.2 mpg

I'm not going to knock Ford. I like their trucks. However, the EB is not getting the numbers as advertised. Someone mentioned already, go visit a Ford forum.

I've got a brand new 5.7 CM 4x4 and am at 14mpg in the city and about 18-19mpg on the freeway. Already have a front level kit on order so those numbers will disappear...

The numbers posted above by our TS participants are in sequence to what I am getting too.

Additionally, when I tow my 6K TT, I average 11-12 mpgs.

I started a thread asking about this same thing-i.e.-mpg for a 4.6L. I get around 13.5 in town (small town with lots of stop signs and very short trips). On the road I get around 19-20 mpg (60-70 mph on 2-lane roads) and slightly less at I-State speeds of 70-75 mph. I was disappointed at first with the in-town mpg but several forum members said this was normal for stop/start driving and it is about the same as my '05 TRD with the 4.7L.

    2010, 4.6, 4.10, TRD, SR5. Over all I would say 15MPG, but I lost about 1MPG since I put on BFG Rugged Terrain LT275/65R18/E 10ply

    Stop and go in town:
    Summer 15.5 L/100km. 15.2 MPG
    Winter 17.5 L/100km. 13.5 MPG

    Interstate:
    at 60mph 11 L/100km. 21.4 MPG
    at 75mph 14 L/100km. 18 MPG

    Pulling my 6000lbs TT:
    at 60mph 20.5 L/100km. 11.5 MPG
    at 75mph 26 L/100km. 9 MPG

2011 4.6l CM 4x4 with 305/55/R20's I get 14.7 anywhere and I drive it pretty quick off the line and getting on the highways. I was getting almost 20mpg with the stock 18's mostly highway. I also use only premium (91) non ethanol gasoline.

On my 2011 4.6 sr5 4x4 double cab I get 15.4 on the computer. On all highway the best I have done is 19.0. The 15.4 is mostly city driving. You also lose about 1-2 MPG if you have a 4x4.

my 2011 DC 4x4 gets 15-16mpg by my calculations, that's on 89oct costco gas. So far I have been driving fairly lightly. This tank, I am driving the way I want to, and see what the difference is. I have been trying to keep the rpms around 2k for upshifts, but on this tank I am letting it go to 3k or so. The truck seems to like this shifting range better. We will see what it gets on this tank, got a bout 3/4 left. The next tank I will get 91 oct and see if that helps. In my mind, it all comes down to cost per mile. So far I am averaging $0.23 per mile over 4617 miles, 3 months, $1020.52 in fuel costs.

I get exactly 16 mpg in stop and go city/town driving, which is about all i do now. I don't punch it EVERY time but i am not taking it easy either.
When i actually do freeway driving I have seen as high as 21.5 mpg.
