When putting on the tape, you will need a smoother, like heavy duty credit card, start at bottom, get it on first while holding the tip on the top of the tape, and smooth going upwards till you reach the top of pillar. That is how we did it and how they did it when we built them here.

mattjgerard: Thanks for mentioning your heated garage. We are jealous. The problem is, that tape will come off cleaner and easier if you are shivering.....

^^^^ Yeah, Riiiiiight. I'll take your word on that

any Tundra owners in the area of minneapolis are welcome to my winter garage gatherings. They are whenever I feel like (which isn't too often), and don't really have a purpose other than to get guys to retreat to a garage and talk shop for a while. The only requirement is that everyone there must have a tool in hand at all times so when the wife pokes her head in, you start wrenching on whatever you're standing closest to with elbows and curse word flying so as to appear to be doing something really important.

Same reason people paint flames on vehicles, change the rims, etc. You said it, its a look thing. Also, there are some reports that water can sit behind the badges and work on the paint a bit possibly creating an area that is prone to rust.

I got them at trdsparks.com.... They were painted and ready for install when I go them. The only thing i didn't like was the website stated 2 weeks to get them but it too almost 5 weeks.

    Bro,
Do you think it will look any better on a black one. I have a 2012 CM and removing the tape on the colored tundras looks sick, just wanted to get your thoughts on whether it would make a big difference on a black Tundra

Lets see nice paint or black tape. I personal love the paint look its not a work truck, so if i was you i would do it. Then do a good wax job to make the part shine. I waxed the boor handles too.
