I have a 2012 regular cab Tundra that has a dash display that has the clock display only. I want to change it out with one that has a outside temperature and clock display. My question is can someone tell me how to remove the display?

I think that I read somewhere that it just pops out, but I've never tried it. Hopefully someone will answer that has done it.
There might be something in this thread about it.

Thanks for the help. I took the truck in today for the 10,000 oil change and the service guy said I would have to change out the accessory meter which involves removing the dash ($500.) The truck is pre wired to accept the new meter that has the outside temp display. I guess I need some kind of directions on dash removal before I screw up something if that info is available.
Pull the lighther out then ac unit remove four radio screws unplug radio harness 3 and antenna cable remove two Phillips screws from clock easy!!!
This will explain most of what you need to know.
Nice pics too!

I am guessing you will have to buy the temp sensor itself to. Make sure to confirm this with the dealer. No point buying the display if you dont get the sensor or it will just read --
Thanks for this link Mendosy. My truck did not come with a lighter so I want to pull the lower console to see if the wire is there before I get the lighter. This helps a lot.

Cripes, my 2011 wasn't that easy. I was installing a scocshe bluetooth module, and I had to start at the drivers kick panel, and remove everything (dash panel, gauge surround, ac controls, cup holder, etc) Took me 2 hrs to get the thing apart, and 8 minutes to install the module. Then i found out the module was bad, and had to remove it to send it in for warranty replacement!
Good thing I figured out that my radio didn't come with the center speaker, so I was able to pop out the grill thats in front of the clock unit, reach in with my little tiny girly hands and pull it out. Just replaced it the same way and its working great.

I did ask the dealer yesterday and they said everything is there I just need to change out the accessory meter to one that has a temp screen not clock only. They told me the entire dash had to be removed to accomplish that. That is why I am asking here if anyone has taken the accessory meter out of a 2012 tundra because I was hoping for an easier way.
