If you look at the non-us spec Landcruiser 78 (which is the utilitarian commercial series) and the cushy looking LC100, they all have 5 lug axles. They have diesel options too.

i'm pretty sure the 5.4L is suppose to go into the half ton to compete with ford and dodge and nissan cuz that is what they are running in their half tons..

i would also be wary of what toyota sales people tell you..in the past they have had patchy and false information..

this is true..i think it is necessary to have that 5.4L in the 1/2 ton tundra as well to compete. i hope that toyota comes out with the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton models with regular, access, and double cab models all at once..that will be the smart thing to do..lets hope.

I'd bet the new Tundra is going to look more like the Aussie version:

Just hopefully not that size ! I surely hope Toyota comes out with a 1 tonner HD since I'll soon be in the market for one to tow large, and cumbersome trailers - 'hint' better suspension and air lockers - when the true HD comes into play. Come on Toyota, make some real meat to put on the slab

I look for 4 (reg/access/crew/mega)different cab configurations. They won't be introduced all at once, and Im not sure if they'll offer that many configurations with the 3/4 ton............this is only a guess.

Probably not all 4 of those cab configurations will be given to us now. We don't even know if Toyota is even coming out with the megacab - now I'm guessing you're saying the megacab given by Dodge's configuation? - that's only assumed due to the 07' spy pics, but I really think that's really just to fool people. Hey, I still want a megacab-like config on a Toyota truck

Hopefully, and Toyota better, be smart enough to start off with something worth looking into to, meaning they HAVE to have a double cab config in order to compete with any of the domestics and Nissan. Even with their newly developed engine and all HD specs, they won't do any good w/o a double cab config, so it's safe to assume that they will have one when it comes out . I want a HD Toyota I can't wait with all of this anticipation, it's killing me! 400N? Was that the name we got out on the heavy duty truck Toyota's coming out with?

Like you said,we'll just have to wait, then we can come back to this thread in a few months and see who guessed right, and who guessed wrong. Most of these post are just all in fun since a lot of us have been waiting along time for the next generation Toyota Tundra.Nothing Im posting should be taken as fact...thats for sure.

P.S. I didn't get the "Mega" cab information from the '07 spy pic....Its just a wild "guess." Lets not forget to bring this thread back to the top in January.

i bet we'll get some pics surfacing in the next month sometime..thats what happened with the tacoma if any of you remember. before it was released, we saw a red double cab in a warehouse..production truck too..hopefully the same thing will happen with this truck..but i think we'll basically have to be patient till the detroit auto show where we will see it debut..

Anyone have an idea of when the actual release date is as far as the 2007 Tundras actually hit dealers lots? It sounds like they will start to arrive in the last quarter of 06.

The 05 Tacomas first arrived at dealers in mid-October 04 but it seemed like they were kept pretty hidden until just a couple months before that.

I would think that the regular cabs ( if there made) access cabs and double cabs would all be released during the same model year just the the Tacomas were.

The 2007 should be out in late 2006. It was originally supposed to be out in the fall, but it now sounds like it might be a little later.
