When you say haul "1 ton" with beefed up springs, do you mean 2000lbs or more like 3000 as in a "1-ton" vehicle like an f350?
I don't think I would try hauling 3000 lbs. on it all the time like you could with an F-350. Does anyone know if the new Tundra rear axle still uses single row ball rear wheel bearings? Hopefully, they've gone to roller bearings like on an F-150.

FYI, Airlift told me they should have airbags available in two months. They said the have received a lot of requests and hope to have it out in a month, maybe two if it is complicated.
Some questions for the experts on here. I'm getting the 07 Tundra DC 2WD with the 5.7L V8. My question is can I tow a 8.5 x 20 enclosed trailer (about 3500 lbs. empty) and contents (weighing about 5000 lbs.). I believe the towing capacity for this specific Tundra is around 10000 lbs. Is the towing capacity means that's the amount I can tow? Thanks in advance!
A toyota salesperson told me yesterday that he was at a meeting and learned the following,
The new tundra will be available next spring with a 5.4 L V-8 and 10,000 lbs towing ability. no diesel until a few more years and the truck will be much bigger.

Ought to be a piece of cake. I tow a 20' flatbed car carrier bumper pull that weighs close to 3K empty and I have loaded it with 7K cargo. I could tell it was there but the Tundra handled it fine. And mine is a 4x4 5.7 Dcab Longbed so the capacity should be similar to your DCab since yours is a 2WD.

4wd have a tab bit lower towing rating like 250 pds vs a 2wd tundra if i recall.
