TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "2007 Toyota Tundra Complete", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Depending on what is announced next month this may be the only area that Silvy fans can trumpet as being better than the Tundra. I'd sure like, being in the same position as you, to be able to say that the Tundra sweeps the board.... best in class in Everything.
Everyone back to the drawing board.
lol, yup, it sure doesnt hurt

I have never in my wildest dreams thought I would hear so called full size truck guys talk about gas mileage. Since when do any trucks get good gas mileage. Even the 4 banger Tacoma's gas mileage sucks. It seems like the Tundra haters are looking for anything they can to bitch about.
Agree! A "fuel-efficient" TRUCK? ... is an oxymoron!
I havent rode to work in a while, it is too damn cold to hop on the BUSA, lol
yea True get heated Gear (LOL). For all those out there that hate Gas prices have something to offset gas prices during the Summer Mo it's that easy(paybacks a Bit??? to the gas companies)
Another Interesting topic I might want to bring up is we have 2 sales people on hear including yourself talk about gas prices yet the both of you are smart enought to Buy Toyota car/trucks that achieve very very Good Fuel Economy just thought I would mention that..

I am a fair weather rider. spring to fall. other than that, the bike stays in the garage. And if I was concerned about gas mileage, I wouldnt have a bike set up to go over 200mph, lol
My gas mileages suck for a motorcycle
I didnt buy my car for the gas mileage, I bought my car because I wanted a car that I could comfortably commute in that would last long enough for me to give it to my son in 2010. But I am looking forward to my demo 2007 Tundra for sure. I dont care what the mileage will be, I get the truck for free so gas is the least of my concerns, lol. There has got to be some perks for the position.

I think that's a pretty "loaded" statement there! ... "all domestics" ... "everything else falls apart."
I have an '03 Tundra with less than 33K miles that has been into the dealership two times for new transmission. I also have a '97 F350 with 273K miles that has only required regular maintenance and two alternators.
I'm sorry i should have reworded that differently.
Sorry that you are one of the 5% of the problem toyota's, & also that you are 1 of the 5% with a domestic WITHOUT problems.
You see....when you buy a toyota, you have a 5% chance of HAVING a problem.
But when you buy a domestic, you have a 95% chance of HAVING a problem.
That's the way i see it.

Not that I dont agree with you, but it is just funny hearing someone else say it, lol

All i can say is:
I have been thru many, many toyota's over the past 20 years and i have yet to have a major problem.
I have always been happy with their overall quality & dependability.
I'm sorry that i talk sh$$ about domestics but hey, the hand writing's on the wall.
#1 is the profitability of toyota vs. the rest. If you don't make a descent product & have to keep paying millions of dollars on warranty issues, you are not going to be profitable. No way in he$$.
If you're not profitable, how can you afford to pay hi $$ to have excellent employees, pay them well so they'll do a good job for you? Or be able to take the time & money needed to make a quality product to sell?
This is the problem with the big 3. They have to give their product away (there goes the profit) or otherwise they wouldn't sell. And heaven forbid if they couldn't pay their overhead.

Oh, I just love it when people pull these types of numbers out of their as* and try to convince others they know what they are talking about.
Sure, Toyotas are more realiable then other brands. That's a given, but some of you sit here and talk like as soon as you drive a domestic off the lot the thing falls into 1,000 pieces right there in the road. Come on, be a little more realistic.

Yeah, those numbers were pulled out of my a$$, but i'm sure they're pretty da$$ close!
I feel i've had plenty of experience with toyota's to be able to voice my opinion, plus plenty of experience with domestics.
The big three have come a long ways though. But not close enough for me to even consider them.
you know what, ever since I found this forum, my day goes by so much faster, You guys are just so damn funny, lol
