Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tundra Owners Introduce Yourself Here
Howdy All,
Thanks for having me! Just bought my first truck and first Toyota, a 2007 DC Limited 4x2 in Silver. So far love the truck, constantly surprised by its features/design/capabilities.
I have always been a Honda/Acura man until this truck. Thought about the Ridgeline, but it just didn't have the size I wanted.
Thanks for all the info and insight!

Hey guys,
Just traded '06 Lexus GX for '07 Tundra, call me a yota loyalist. Just sent the tundra in for work. I have a toytec 3" add-a-leaf leveling kit being finished today. I'll try and post pics as soon as possible and review this product for others that are comparing the different available kits.

Yo.
We keep it in the family in my household -- I'm the proud owner of a 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax SR5 4x4, while my fiance has his pimped out mack-daddy 2005 Toyota Tundra XSP 4x4. (You know, even with his lifted, mine still sits higher... Gearhead 1, Prep 0!)
Anyhow. I just traded my baby -- 2000 Tacoma SR5 4x4, lifted with big bubba tires & rims -- for the crewmax I'm now driving, and I tentatively think I like it better.

Just bought an 07 Radiant Red Crewmax, 3 week wait but well worth it, has the TRD package as well. Using it mostly to pull a project car to and from the track but it will be a daily as well.

Hello to All. I have had 3 Toyota trucks to date.
First was an '00 4X4 TRD Extra-Cab, V-6 Auto with just the basic TRD pkg. The '00 was rock solid and living in NH winters can be Hell. Never got struck any where with that vehicle.
Second truck was and '04 Tacoma Quad Cab 4X4 (Pictured). Again just the Basic truck w/SNUGTOP cap. I traded the '00 in for the '04 because I need new tires on the truck. lol
Third Truck is the '07 Tundra 4WD, V8 5.7L, 6 SPD Auto, Limited, TRD.
I have NO Pictures YET of this vehicle. Color is Blue Streak Metallic. 1218 miles on it. After reading the forums here about oil change and input from other readers, I am having oil changed tomorrow at dealership. Cost is $40. Worth it for the piece of mind. Built small block Chevy engines as a kid and always changed the oil at 500 miles, then again at 3000. I was gonna go by the dealerships recommendation, but you all swayed me to get r done now.
I am interested in any other '07 5.7L owners about "What are you really getting for gas mileage? I am currently getting about 13.8 miles a gallon. Mostly city driving.
Trying the 1-month subscription to see what's up - just got a 2007 Tundra to replace my 99 Chevy Silverado. LOVING it - my wife has a 4Runner (04) that is a great rig too.
Not sure if I can do attachments under the 'guest' membership or not but in case I've tried to upload a picture of my rig with the new decals and graphics I just put on today ...

Hi just got my new 5.7 crewcab. I was nervous about getting the big block but I asked the Salesman...you got my deal what would be better for resale 4.7 or 5.7 and he said without hesitation 5.7. Well I'm still on my first tank of gas and it's gone pretty fast 500km i was hoping it would hit 600km but they said that happens on it's first run. I got it at 20km. I pre-ordered it and waited almonst a month and a half. On thing that bugs me is the seat seams to high. i looked under and the latches are lifted a good 2 inches. I was wondering if anyone felt the same. I'm a 6 foot guy so i was wondering if the seat can be lowered. Has this ever been asked. otherwise this truck rocks. Love to hear from you all.

After much headache shaking salesman upside down, emails, phone calls, slaps in the face... I finally found someone that can deliver the truck I want in the next two weeks (or so I hope).
I'm making the switch after having owned 5 Chevy/GMC truck, and 2 GMC SUVs.

Hello to All.
I am looking hard at the 07 Tundra CrewMax or the 07 Ridgeline and maybe a Taco
2007 Tundra CrewMax SR5 4x2 Pro's
Bigger
New Model
Powerful
Quite of few others Con's
It won't fit in the garage so I would be forced to put her away at night and get her out in the morning from behind my RV gate, peace of mind. 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTL w/Navi Pro's
Fully loaded in everyway
It's a Honda
Trunk in bed and tailgate both pretty cool Con's
I dont know how much longer they will be around since they are not selling a lot of units.
Underpowered V6
Possible facelift in 08
Less Roomy
Feel free to hit some points I missed and tell me about any great deals.

Hello, I am a recovering A.T.O. For those who may not know what that mean it stands for American Truck Owner. Yup I had a 2002 Dodge Ram1500. I loved the truck but, long story short it was a POS or POC that had more strange problems than I have ever seen in a car or truck. Not to mention all the parts and time I had to throw at it. I now have a 2007 Tundra Double Cab 4x2. This truck is stunning to me not with the extirior but with the design put into every system on it. any way I wiil have this truck for at least three years and it has already started to help me recover from A.T.O.

If your focus is deal ($$), I suspect you'll do better with the Honda. Save even more money and get a Garmin GPS instead of the built in Navi. Garmin has real-time traffic, weather, gas prices, movie listings, etc., and still gives voice instructions. Built in Honda Navi uses same database as Garmin, lacks Garmin's extra features noted above, adds the ability to receive voice commands, and costs about $700 more. For my money, I chose the Garmin.
If your focus is drivability, Ridgeline is best for ride and handling, though a little short on power. Anything will be short on power compared to the Tundra 5.7. Tundra drives good for a truck; Ridgeline drives more like a car, which is not surprising since it evolved from an Odyssey chassis.
Neat stuff: Ridgeline trunk and dual-tailgate are neat, and Honda has better-illuminated switches on the door panels. Toyota has better functions in their steering wheel audio controls. Personal preference on which one has the better stereo, so you will have to decide that for yourself.
Engine/transmission: is it worth 14/18 10K + towing capacity to get the Tundra vs. 16/21 5K towing with the Ridgeline? I think most would say yes. You're shopping 2wd Tundra so your mileage will be even better. I have always been a fan of Honda automatics for their grade logic. 07 Tundra 6-speed auto actually outdoes Honda. It's the first Toyota transmission I know of with downhill grade logic, and it works great.
If your focus is truck-stuff, like hauling, off-roading, etc., Ridgeline is nowhere near the league of Tundra. I have a local test course for evaluating off-road vehicles. The Ridgeline was outdone by a RAV4 V6 on this course. If your only interest is soft-roading on dirt trails, the Ridgeline will be fine; otherwise, choose the Tundra or other real truck.
If your focus is style and looks, I think most would choose Tundra.
If your focus is reliability, it's probably a wash. Honda had a lot of problems (water leaks, etc.) with the first Ridgelines that are probably worked out now. A few rumblings about the Tundra, but I haven't heard of any consistent big problems yet.
So which did I choose? I am a big Honda fan: 02 Odyssey, 04 Accord, 05 Odyssey, 06 Civic. I chose an 05 Frontier over an 06 Ridgeline in January 05 when the Ridgeline first came out because the undercarriage of the Ridgeline can’t handle off-road. I just traded the Frontier for an 07 Tundra DC 5.7 4x4 TRD because I’m giving up a little in off-road ability (Tundra is wider and longer than Frontier) and gaining a lot in big truck performance while still getting comparable gas mileage. Frontier 4x4 was rated 15/20, I got 15-17 over 35,000 miles. Tundra 5.7 4x4 is rated 14/18, I’m getting 14-17 in the first 4,000 miles.
A final note: if your focus is ego, get the Tundra. I get way more compliments with the Tundra than I ever did with the Frontier or when I borrowed a Ridgeline. BTW, my comments on the Ridgeline are based on personal experience, even though I never owned one. Because I bought so many Hondas, my dealer let me borrow one for a few hundred miles to get my impressions.

Hi all!
After almost buying a Tundra Crewmax Limited Black - sight unseen I had a change of heart when I inspected it and saw it had Red Rock Leather. Not my style. My dealer was terrific though and ordered me a Pyrite Crewmax Limited with Slate interior. Should be built mid June Delivery End of June 1st of July.
Line X spray in liner, Tube running boards and rear Entertainment DVD in headrests.
Looking forward to Extang releasing a Solid Fold - & I will be there!
Prior P/U's - 1980 Toy 1 Tonne, GMC Sierra, and current trade is an 02 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.
