Been a long time since I have been here. Bought a 2009 SR5 TRD Double Cab today with the 5.7. Keeping the 2000 for a beater....

I found this site while researching for a future purchase of a Tundra 4X4 Crewmax. It seems like there are a lot of ideas I can use when I buy my truck. I am also interested should one from this site planned to sell their modified Crewmax.

I have a '01 v8 Tundra 2WD with about 88,000 miles. My local dealership gave me a 900$ quote for the 90k service-timing belt, water pump and seals, plugs, filters, etc--my question is if I'm going to keep the truck for another 2 years/20k miles, do I need to have the water pump replaced if there is no sign of leakage? Have any other members been having any problems with the pump and is there any other component that needs to be inspected at this time. I've had all services performed by the dealer as specified in the manual-not their extra 'severe driving conditions' schedule. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Got this site from a guy at the 4wheelparts place, was thinking of lifting my truck, bought some air stairs, and tow ball for my new Tundra.

I've been a long time Toyota Lover. Ive owned several. I had an '96 Tacoma, a '96 Celica, '00 Tundra, and a '06 Matrix. I just traded in my baby my 2000 Tundra, for a 2009 Tundra TRD Rock Warrior edition, it is by far my favorite of all the toyota's ive owned.

Family is toyota crazy. Brother has a 4runner, dad has a prius, mom has a Rav4. Sister in law has a Sequioa. brother in law has a tundra, Mother in law has a Highlander. Father in law has a Tacoma Pre-runner. Christmas time looks like a toyota dealership at my house

I have a cousin who works on Prototypes for Toyota, and am pretty well versed in their engines and tricks. Hit me up if you have any questions about any of the models ive owned, or that the family owns, as i do most of the service on them all.

Cool Tundra Blog Site, I am new here and still in the learning process of how to use this web site. Glad to see us Tundra Dudes stick together. Tundra is the only way to go! I have a 05' Double Cab. Truck runs great. I am planning on towing a TT that is 3700# dry weight. I will be using all of the standard equipment of WD hitch and friction sway bar. The trailer says the tong weight is 500#'s. I would like to know how the Tundra's with the 4.7L do with towing. I am sure the weight will go up on the TT with junk and water. Can anybody tell me how the Tundra’s do overall with towing? Thanks

05 Tundra Dude

Hi -
I'm Alan from Vermont - just purchased a 2003 4x4 Access Cab from a dealer in South Carolina. Was returning from a trip to Florida when my 1990 Chevy blew a head gasket, so pulled into Columbia SC, found a Toyota dealer and drove out with my new black Tundra. Getting a truck from the South to bring to Vermont is great - no salt on the roads and a clean underbody, even though it has 100K on the odometer. If it were a VT truck, there would be salt rust & mud all over it. The rubber was a worn 245-65-17 's and gave me a speedometer reading faster than I was actually going. Just ordered a set of 265-70-17 's General Grabbers, which will probably show I'm going slower than I actually am, but will get a bit better mileage. Have a line on a used Leer 122 cap which I should be getting next week. So far, am in love with this truck.

Just order my new 09 Tundra CrewMax Limited today in black with the charcoal interior. I currently own a 2005 Tacoma Double cab short box with the 6 speed manual. I own a aftermarket shop in Manitoba Canada and I will be decking out the Tundra like I did the Tacoma. I'll post the build project as I go along.

If anyone here needs help with electrical, remote starter, security or cruise let me know. I'm one of the mods over on the12volt.com forum
