Hey everyone. I just picked up an '08 DC nautical blue. Had a '00 White SR5 before this one. Once I get over the fear of putting the first scratch in it I'll be looking to everyone to help me figure out the best way to go about hookin' my new baby up. (getting some Line-X ASAP though)

What up my Tundra brothers? Looking forward to some good info for my new 08 TRD CrewMax. I like to call her Betty, Black Betty that is. My son (16) has a 96 Tacoma he calls Karen ( from the movie Talladega Nights ) So I followed his lead. He passed away on Nov 1st from a car accident. He and I had test drove an 07 that day. He made me swear while he was in the hospital that I would get a new Tundra. Unfortunately he did not get to see Black Betty. So I finally bought her and hear I am.

Recently purchased a 2007 Tundra Double Cab Limited. I've had a lot of trucks since 1973 and this one is the coolest. I can't imagine why I've never owned a Toyota before. Better late than never.. Great forum too...

Picked up a 2007 Tundra TRD Double Cab on the last day of November. Let the sales staff chase me for three months until they got the deal right. Of course that limited my selection of colors and options, but in the end I got what I wanted (with room for a few mods down the line).

Hello everyone... First off, I joined TS a few years ago when i was shopping for a Tundra. It was to replace my '99 S10 ZR2. Back then, the local dealer (Now Kerry Toyota, in Florence, KY) and I got within $500 of me buying one. I told them, they could raise my trade-in or lower the price.. They took door number 3 and loss the sale.
Fast forward to present day. I started looking at Tundra's again, and had to have my account reactivated. Started reading posts, and searching for deals. Found a dealer linked off this site (Jim Barkley in Asheville, NC) that had some pretty kick butt out-the-door deals.
Armed with this knowledge I visited Kerry Toyota last week to finally do a touch-n-feel session with the latest generation Tundras. I crawled around in a DC and a CM. First off i was quite surprised at how large the DC was in side. I thought they were a lot smaller inside than they really are. I was initially on a hunt for a CrewMax, but seeing the DC made me think a little. I drove a 4.7L and a 5.7L (both 2008). I also looked at the differences in the tailgate design between them. I actually saw a few '07's that had the new tailgate design, which confused me. I didn't really know they had changed for '08, just knew there was an issue with them and knew what to look at/for.
So, after my poke-n-feel session, I walked back into the showroom with the salesman. He was very helpful, and knowledgeable about the Tundra and we talked about options and briefly about prices. He told me that they could get the price down where the Jim Barkley print out I brought in with me was, but they couldn't get me an SR5 with NAV. Factory Nav was on big thing I wanted, no matter what version truck I ended up with. He told me flat out they couldn't get me an SR5 w/Nav. So we said our good bye's and I went home.
Then it started with a simple phone call down to Jim Barkley. Ended up speaking to Phil Morgan. He was real helpful and easy to work it. After our initial talk where I had told him i was attempting to sell my S10 to my brother-n-law but wasn't convinced he could get a loan, he got declined. I emailed Phil told him what happened and that I would like to see about a trade-in of my S10. He have me a range. I told him that the top number he gave me was my "Magic number" and that if we could settle on that number we would have a deal.
The next day at Lunch I took 58 pictures of my S10 and mailed Phil a link. Later that evening we settled on my "Magic Number" and I told him which truck I wanted etc...
Yesterday at 3:30am I left Florence, KY and drove 351 miles down to Jim Barkley Toyota. I arrived at 8:59am (They opened at 9), dropped off my S10, test drove my new baby, signed a few papers, got a quick once-over with a tech, and I was on my way by about 9:40.
I made it back home at 3pm with my 2008 Black on Black SR5 CrewMax 5.7L with NAV
w00t
Overall a wonderful experience, and I look forward to asking many questions and helping where I can as I learn this new truck!

Howdy had an email to introduce myself.
Well I'm a US Navy Master Chief with 29 years of active duty service and loving it everyday. I had an 05 Tundra DC 4.7 I wanted more power, room and towing capacity so I traded the 05 for an 07 Tundra DC Black, 5.7,TRD, Tow pack,TEKONSHA P3 brake controler,Rear cam, Redrock interior, LINEX, HUNTER brush guard,RAMPAGE boards.
I dont like a plain Truck I love to custom up. Myfavorite saying goes like this "stock sucks CUSTOM UP"
I also own an 07 FJ CRUISER Black and loaded who my better half drives she call it the TANK I call it ORCA.
I have owned many Trucks in my years FORD, CHEVY,DODGE,NISSAN,JEEP but "NONE" measure up to the quality, power and handling of my 07 TUNDRA . I will post some pics later.

New member. Bought 2007 Tundra double cab, 5.7L, April 1st. March 11 a woman decided to test body strength of the drivers side of bed and rear conner of cab. Due to newness was with out for 33 days while in body shop. Mazada 929 that hit me was totaled. May post pictures later. Made trip from Houston, TX to Conway, Ark in 6 hours and was getting 16.8 miles per gallon at high speeds.

Hello and thanks for the forum.
Currently awaiting delivery of my '08 RCLB 5.7 2WD SR5. This will be about my 10th pickup, mostly 1 ton 2wd. Never bought a new truck before this one. Not a very popular truck up here so I have to wait a couple weeks. Plan to personalize it with a few performance mods. And probablyy a set of tires. lol
Can hardly wait
