Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tundra Owners Introduce Yourself He
Hello, I just joined the forum after being directed here during a web search for better wiper blades for my '07 Tundra. They are pretty worthless in snow storms. That is really the only issue I have found with it, other than the gas mileage (12 mpg in town in winter).
I did a fair amount of research online as well as driving other trucks before purchasing the Tundra. I was mostly looking for a truck to transport my dirt bikes and ATV. the factors that helped me decide on the Tundra were the Toyota reputation in offroading and the huge back seat in the crew cab version. My son is 6'4 and his friends are similarly tall. I opted for the Limited as I like leather seats and the JBL stereo is really nice. I also included the TRD option.
We have had a fair amount of snow in Denver this winter and this truck has no trouble cruising thru 15" at a time. I have only towed one car so far and the Tundra had no trouble pulling it out of a snowdrift. Last year I towed over 40 cars in the winter, using my Jeep and a winch and I plan to put a winch on this truck when I find a good brush guard-winch setup.
I wouldn't recommend the Tundra as your only vehicle if you commute to work year round because of the mileage, but as my hauling, towing, snowblasting vehicle, it is perfect. the 381 HP is great. Very useful for passing on two-lane roads and tows my trailer with 2 dirt bikes and the ATV in the bed with no problem even in our mountains.
I love this truck.

Hey all! I just became a new member. I own a 2004 Tundra SR5 double cab, 4.7v8 w/auto transmission. I've recently been having problems with it and I'm trying to find out the causes. Any tips would help. Thanks. Patrick

Hello everyone, new here and just introducing myself. I'm a first time truck owner and I chose the Tundra just from researching my options on the internet. I just got my truck on 12/23, one day before my bday. I've added a custom grille, tinted the windows and added a bunch of other little crap. My next project will be new rims / tires. I just have to be absolutely sure waht will fit my truck. Anyway, glad to be here as an Tundra owner and no longer a perspective owner.

Just turned in my 05 sr5 crew for an 08 grade dble cab. Still on the fence if it was good move. The 05 was great truck. Refined, quiet, powerfull, very classy ride. 08 was a little step down. Went for the smaller dble cab, little easier on the wallet and I really didnt need all the room but I think Ill miss it.
Anybody else make the move from an 04-06 to an 07-08? What do you think so far?
For reference MSRP 30125, Lease money factor .000219, residual 16884.
Paid 26925.

Hello All!
I have been a die-hard Ford man all my life but no more! The new body style of the 2007 Tundra caught my eye and after careful consideration and alot of research, I just purchased my first Toyota ever. I purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra on one of those "Year End Sales". I went to buy a 2007 Tundra and instead the sales associate sold me a new 2008 with the same "Year End Sales" offers on the 2007! I am thrilled to death on my Tundra and look forward to reading many of the interesting post in this forum.

I bought a 5.7 4x4 DC last September. Had an 2000 Tundra DC and it was great except for the brake shimmy I had and should of fixed under warranty. The new truck is pretty nice but I miss the manueverablity of the smaller version. I also find the tow mirrors to be a woefully poor design (mainly the small mirror just doesn't get the job done). Also, the bouncey ride in some roads can be annoying. Finally, I'm disappointed to learn there may be a weakness with the tailgate and I am monitoring other possible problem issues on this forum. I hope Toyota will stand behind any upcoming problems.
On the other hand, I tow a 7500# tow hauler and can't ask for anything more. I have never applied full throttle, even in the mountains of Utah and California, and it just gets the job done with great climb speeds. Just amazing! I also hauled 2400#'s in the bed (a short distance) and it wasn't bottomed out (but it was dramatically low in the rear.). The power is surprisingly good and I haven't even pushed it that hard.
Mileage has been good and bad. Average mpg towing is close to 9 with a max of 10.6 and a low of 7. I also achieved a high of 19 (pure highway at 65) and a low of 12 (pure city driving). Overall is just about 15.
I bought this truck to tow the trailer and it does it very well. Just hope it is as dependable as my 2000 Tundra. Time will tell.

Yo.
Finally got a Tundra, after many painful F350 years. I have been waiting for Toyota to make a truck that can pull my trailers. They really did a nice job on this one.
My truck: '07 Black DC Limited, Red Rock int. I have only done a leveling kit so far. I am waiting for the wheel selection to grow a little before I do tires and wheels.
I also have an endless build thread over at SupraMania for my '90 Turbo. It's a great place for anything Supra.

Hi Everyone,
I purchase an 07 Tundra DC 4x4 TRD Pyrite Mica with 9800 miles on it. Traded in an 01 Chevy Silverado. I really love the truck except for the gas mileage. I was looking at other Silverado's and ran across this Tundra. Took a little while to make the final decision, but my heart was really set on this truck. The note above says my dealer is Beck Toyota, but actually it was Andy Mohr Toyota in Avon, IN which was not an option when I registered.
Great Site with lots of info. Will look here frequently.

Just put a deposit on a 2008 2WD DCSB Salsa Red Pearl Grey Interior with the bucket seats! Should take delivery on Saturday! The excitement is killing me! Does anyone think that color matching the dash bezel with the grey interior will look bad?
