Re: Welcome to TundraSolutions.com! - New Members/Tundra Owners Introduce Yourself Here
Hello all, I have a 98 sienna that runs circles around my f250 and now have a Tundra on order. I do wish that toyota had a manual option or even better a diesel option for 07. Gas mileage my only concern regarding the Tundra, if I could get away with a smaller truck I would. My f250 v10 will show 14 on the hwy and 9.5 in town, hopefully the Tundra will do better. Either way the quality advantage over Ford makes the purchase a no brainer for me. (Ford parts bill outrunning my gas bill!)
I've been lurking for a couple of months and just started posting today. I will be purchasing a new 4dr truck in the next few months and have test driven the following:
'07 Dodge RAM Laramie
'07 Ford F150 Lariat
'07 Chevy Silvarado LTZ (GMT 900)
'07 GMC Sierra (GMT 900)
'07 Cadillac Escalade
'07 Lincoln Mark LT
'07 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited
The three trucks I have not driven yet are the Chevy Avalanche, GMC Sierra Denali, and Nissan Titan. I sat in one if the Nissan Titans and did not like the tight fitting seats. I'm not into side bolsters unless it's a track car. The Chevy Avalance is not for me, and I have only sat in a Sierra Denail.
I must say first and foremost, I would not kick any of these trucks out of my garage. I found all of them to have good and bad features, for example....
I really liked the interior of the Ford, but it's windshield is raked back too much for me to view out comfortably with my height. Also, it seemed to lack power and I'm not much on it's styling. (I hope for Ford's sake, they take a lot of cues from the '07 Tundra for their '09)
The Dodge is by far the sexiest truck, but it's interior seems straight out of a mid 80s K -car with better materials. It desperately needs an update. However, it does have power and a large bed, along with a large turning radius.
The GMC/Chevy is a really nice truck. The Chevy has a lot of road noise from the back, but I would bet the Denali version takes care of this. The interior is up to date and they have plenty of power. However, they just don't have all the neat little features of the Tundra.
The Lincoln and Cadillac are all show. However, the Lincoln was particularly quiet and luxurious. If it wasn't $55K+ with less features than the Tundra, I'd be very interested. As far as the Caddy, well, I find it just to obnoxious for me to drive on a daily basis.
Obviously, the Tundra Crewmax Limited was my favorite. Good styling, good interior, lots of power, and some really nice gizmos and doo-dads for ME to play with. Also, almost as quiet on the road as the Lincoln, and that's saying something. However, I did find the same problem as the Ford, the windshield is raked too much for my viewing comfort. I can't see stoplights! I'm thinking when I order my truck, I'll get a couple extra sets of seat risers and have them shortened to accomodate my height.
I'm going to do a special order sometime in June and hopefully get it in by the end of August. I wish I could pull the trigger sooner, but with Toyota's crazy option packages right now, I have to wait to get what I want without stuff I don't.
For those of you who have lasted this long, thanks for reading.

I have a 2007 access cab 4x 4 short bed .I had it back to the dealer for a 4 lo light flashing and check eng light on .
The dealer told me vit had a code p0705 stored in it . They check the harness and replaced a blown fuse .Got the truck back and drove it .
A week later same problem.
I bought a 2007 Tundra doublecab. Silver in color and have had it for about 3 weeks. I love the truck in it's styling and ride and power is no problem with the 5.7 litre engine. I previously owned a 2003 Tundra extended cab. That was a great truch also. We are a Toyota family. Wife has the Highlander.

Hi all,
Purchased my new 2007 Tundra DC 4x4 with the TRD package in the Pyrite colour in mid March and am having a blast. Also had the side bars, hood deflector and window vents installed. Just had the Reflex bed liner installed a couple of weeks ago. Looking to install the tow mirrors when they come out in the summer. This truck should meet all my expectations when I tow based on what this forum says.

Hi All,
Love the new Tundra and you can see one of my campers at Mountain States Toyota in Denver on the new Tundra. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about puting a camper on this great half ton truck.

Hey all, just found this site and looks great!! I have been a Toyota fan all my life. I had an 87 Supra turbo, 91 pick up (lifted with 33"), and a 95 4runner. Right now I am finishing up an custom Harley I built from the ground up.
I am also looking to buy an 07 Tundra DC 5.7 LTD within a month or a Tacoma P/U.
