Hi,
Just found this site and joined. This is my first Toyota Tundra, just got a 06 with only 13000 miles on it. I did find out that this one was on the recall list and I'm trying to find out more. Looking to add some equipement to the truck also. Look forward to talking to everyone.

Hey everybody. I found this site a few months ago while researching a new Tundra. I found it to be very informative and helpful so I joined, even though I didn't have a Tundra, yet.
Well I bought one yesterday so I feel that I can now post. The only bad part is that I don't have it yet. It's still "on the truck" somewhere. I just can't wait until I can tryout some of the stuff I have read about here.
Thanks to everything I've read here, even the not so good stuff, I made the purchase and look forward to joining in on the discussions.
Oh yeah, it's a Slate Metallic Dbl cab Ltd 4x2. I hear that the Slate is the fast one

Finally I can post as an owner. This site has already been very helpful with mods and concerns. Thanks to all of you. It is good to know you can get answeres from people who may have had the same issues. Answers here have already saved me from having to deal with service departments [don't trust many of them].

This is a big departure for me..after 4 Ford trucks in about 20 years of owning fords I finally did it. I can thank my wife who has owned many Toyotas. I test drove the 08 Tundra and I was hooked. I know most of you guys and gals have the V-8 but I went with the 4.0 V-6 . Has as much HP as my 4.6 V-8 Triton but more torque. And my Tundra is 500 pounds lighter! I can tell by driving my Tundra that my performance is better just the seat of the pants feel. What broke off my relationship with Ford were the brakes on my 05 F-150. THEY WERE PATHETIC!!! And after 2 brake jobs they wer not much better in the end. I put new rotors and pads on and it made a difference but I have to tell you that I LOVE THESE BRAKES on the Tundra. Very good feedback and performance. They do what they were designed to do. STOP!!! Hats of to Toyota and I am not going to look back. I purchased the Tundra from PUTNAM TOYOTA in Altus, Oklahoma. They are great to deal with.
2008 Tundra Double Cab
Super White w/ Charcoal interior
4.0 V-6
I have to tell you a few of my coworkers complement me on the looks of the truck. My last Ford had the beige interior and no matter how many times I shampood the seats the stains would return. Aweful choice of interior if you are a mechanic. Thats why we chose the charcoal with black interior.
I noticed no cold air intake offered 4 the V-6 Tundra... What if I bought one designed for the 4.0 Tacoma?I have also noticed the insults traded back and forth mainly rude comments with some with little intelligence degrading the Tundra. I am over with bickering and negative comments about diffent make of trucks. I can understand the brand loyaly(I owned mostly Fords in the past). But until one trys something new then most comments are childish ( Not so much on this site but on other web sites) unless well founded from experience. I feel that by jumping ship from Ford to Toyota that I at least have something recent to compare the 2 makes to.
Bottom line for me is that I am not regretting my choice in the least!!!

Hi! Just recently purchased a 2004 DC in Salsa Red. My first Toyota, and I am just shocked by the thoughtful way Toyota designs their trucks! Thank you all for posting such helpful information! Hope I can learn how to do some of my own maintenance, as dealers are way too expensive!

Hello my fellow Tundra owners. I just bought an 2002 Tundra SR5 today. Great truck, only has 44k on it and it is gray. So far I am very pleased. Driving it back to Tennessee tomorrow from Albuquerque. I will post pics once I get it home and get all of the bug remnants off of it.
