I just did a side by side comparison of interior dimensions of the two trucks! (Hopefully this hasn't been done yet as I think you will find it quite interesting. A quick search yielded nothing.)

My best friend just got his 07 mega cab in last friday. It has every option except Nav, and premium wheels. He took me for a ride, it wasn't slow especially when the turbo spooled up. It has more room in the back seats than any truck I have ever seen. I have a 2000 tundra with the 4.7, and we will line them up soon and see whose faster. He was driving an 07 2wd quad-cab 1500 with the hemi and I raced him. He killed me off the line and then I stuck with him up to 90 mph. then we raced again except I got the jump by maybe 1/3 of a sec and I stayed ahead until about 100 and he blew by me. I think that his truck would be way faster if it didn't have those heavy 20" rims and huge tires.

If I remember correctly, I think the Mega Cab is 19" longer than the Crew Max and only 10" or 12" of that is in the truck bed. Considering that the cab space is roughly equal or even a little better in the Crew Max, the Mega Cab is using up an extra 7" to 9" somewhere in the engine bay or bumpers...
The available Cummins in the Mega Cab make it a winner hands down.
