w/ that fattest turbo, you'd need some fuel system mods as well :P
Yeah, I know - it's like a chain-reaction. I'd need more fuel, modded front end to accept massive FMIC, upgraded pistons, rods, cams... but man... that would be oh so nice. I'm sure I'm not the only TS'er with this pipe dream.

If I ever blow up the motor in my Toyota Epic boat, I'd love to drop a 5.7L in there. I wonder if the bolt pattern where the motor and tranny meet are the same as the earlier Toyota V8s.
your lucky to have an epic Toyota boat those are rare want to sell your's
For the money you would drop on the engine - wrecked or not
I am wondering what the lightest 2wd version of the Tundra they will offer with the 5.7-
I looked at one in person the other day (Tundra 07 w/4.7 not 5.7) and the thing is really large - I mean the back set on the AC was larger than the backseat in my 07' Taco DC. Still has the tiny little axles -hate that crap.

Geez, I just got it this past October, let me run it for a season. You're right, I do feel lucky to have it. It took me 3 years to find the one that I wanted. I'm keeping it for a loooooooooong time.

do me a favor take some picture of your boat and show the engine too please..
I recall the epic boat when they were for sale but there rare because Toyota isnt in the boat bussiness anymore sadly ..
This is my first post I would like to say Hello to every one.Maybe TRD will come out with a crate 5.7 like Ford or GM thats a bolt in. Wishful thinking
They seem to want to compete head on with the domestics, so they might do just that. GM, Ford, and Dodge all have good selections of factory performance parts, including crate engines. I would suspect, however, Toyota would be pretty proud of a complete 5.7 kit. $$$
5.7 liter iforce v8 swap are going to be hard to do reason the 6 speed auto Transmission used on the all new Tundra has to be used with this v8 engine. The current 4 speed and 5 speed used on the current Tundra Might Now handle the Power delivery this new engine has thus I dont think it's possibly and the Cost Involved would be pretty pricey to say the least.
I dont think the driveshaft or rear end would need to be replaced if you go with the larger engine swap. I'd be more worried about getting traction than breaking the rear. There is some 4x4 Twin Turbo V6 Tacoma out there running 11's and it has a factory drivetrain, just a modded transmission.
I think that you would find the swap dificult as not only is the motor much bigger, the heads look like an old hemi. also as others have said you would have to have the tranny, then consider the rear end complete with the rear brakes now you need to do a front brake swap as the rears are larger on the new one than even the old fronts forget about the drums. also there would be either reprogramming or a lot of other work as the new ecu uses the brakes for traction control as well as the limited slip is brake actuated. I too have dreamed of this combination as my 07 is very fast even with the long bed but I would wager my 03 is about a thousand pounds lighter.
