That might be your case in your section of the world but not in the North american market. The 5.7 Liter is all new and currently Toyota doesn't have a stick with that v8 yet..

the 1gr and the 2uz engines are the same engines that came in the previous tundras, and they also use them in the new tundra along with the 3ur (5.7L)engine. shouldnt the 5.7 bolt in the 06 tundra using the motor mounts from the smaller engines? WTF did i just say??? LOL

Really? Sweet, do you happen to know the code of the transmission they used? One of the "r" series (r151f for example) or something different?

Edit: the reason I ask is because a Toyota (probably Lexus) v8 is going to find a home in my 94's engine bay. Because I can!

Appreciate the offer, but you'd have to give me quite the deal to make the 3000 mile drive worth it!

There's a yard in the area with several of them, and they are definately motivated to sell, so I really don't have a problem with sourcing a motor, I was just curious about the manual trans. I'm probably going to use the r151f I have, I'm just curious what Toyota used.

I'm getting ready to pull my '08 tundra in the shop next to my "good" Tundra ('01) to do some mearsuring - I want to look at the possibility of putting the 6-speed behind my 4.7L and also want to see if the 5.7L would even fit in my '01.

Yeah I got rid of that crappy Ford thank goodness ! The new Tundra rocks, especially when I hit the gas pedal! Still wouldn't trade it for my '01 off road, but on the road there's no comparison !

I think a 5.7 with a S/C shoe horned into a Tacoma would be fun.

Any update on the T56 adaptor plate? I just pickup my 5.7L with transmission.
