Been looking for something for awhile so I could chime in.

If you have nothing plugged into the AUX input when you cycle thru the radio functions using the mode button on the steering wheel it'll skip AUX. Samething if their are no CD in the CD player.

When I am coasting down a steep hill (e.g. 8-9% grade) and approach the speed limit I apply the brakes to stay within the speed limit. My 08DCLTD maintains the speed at which I applied the brakes with the engine. It is unnecessary to reapply the brakes to maintain the speed limit. The Tundra just stays at the speed I was at when I braked. Is this a great pickup or what?

Default Little things you've discovered about your Tundra...

Like why in the world are the following buttons/switches not illuminated at night...the rest of the dash is lit up like a Christmas tree!

1. Lock/Unlock button on both doors - Huh? I have to turn the cab light on to find it.
2. Mirror adjust/Automatic Fold in button - Huh? What if you need to adjust your mirrors and it is dark?
3. HomeLink - I hope I hit the right button since none of the four are illuminated.

This just bugs me...I really don't understand how Toyota engineers can design such a bad a*s truck and not have the attention to detail to illuminate these switches. We've got an LED to light up the cup holders...but no light for the three above. I don't get it!

Toyota figures you should be stopped and safe before making adjustments to your mirrors, unlocking the doors to let someone in or out, or opening your gate and/or garage door. No lights cause they are trying to get you not to monkey eff with them while you are supposed to be paying attention to the road.

It's as simple as that.

Woah! easy on the whining statement. People are not "whining", Just stating the facts. It is stupid that these little items were overlooked considering the Tundra was more expensive than the Chevy. It's a crock! It is also really sad that NOBODY knows anything about this truck. The manual is very little help and the dealer know's NOTHING about it. I'd like to know myself what this truck does. I can't seem to find anyone who works for Toyota who has the answers. I think there are designers who built this truck who drive around going "I didn't know this truck did that" And that is what makes it weak.

Weird... as dark as it is, I've never had any problems finding where the switches are. It's good to know my sense of touch is still sharp. As for the Tundra being more expensive than a chevy, I like to think I paid for (engine) quality.

I'd "like" to think that as well....I however do have my doubts. I think I paid for the reputation of a Toyota. But, I don't think it's living up to the hype. It seems to be just like every other vehicle. I guess only time will tell.

My Camry doesn't have these switches and buttons lighted either. Neither did my F150. Neither did the brand new Dodge I just rented. It's whining, plain and simple. If you have a "fact" that you want to state than look around first. Like I said, there are already a TON of threads started up where people complain about the things they are not happy with. That's one of the things that is so great about this Forum. If you have a problem or concern, you can bounce it off thousands of others. We just don't need so many threads because people are too lazy to search first.

As far as " It is also really sad that NOBODY knows anything about this truck", you haven't been reading this Forum very much, have you. It is filled with people that know volumes about this truck. Again, you just have to look. I have also NEVER had my dealer say "I don't know". Every question I have ever asked them about my Tundra was answered in detail by some one there. In many cases, they even show me where it is in the manual.

I think Toyota got the truck just about right and I continue to enjoy driving it to work, pulling the camper, out hunting, etc. The little things are just that, little things. I can't think of any questions that were not answered by the dealer, manual or this forum.
