On navigation systems you can change the direction that the arrow points via voice commands. In other words by default your arrow points in the direction you are traveling down if you are going south, left if you are going east etc... I prefer the arrow always pointing UP. You can change this by using voice commands. I could not find another way to change this...
Now if I could only find a way to tell me each tire's pressure (I don't think you can) and how I can lock the doors with the remote while one is open!
I know that some Chevy's show PSI while others just alert us when a tire is low... The VW is the same as my Tundra, just lets you know a tire is low or that the difference in PSI between the tires is too great (that's a fun error to fix).
All of the GM's I owned had the "luxury" dash so it showed the actual PSI. In fact, OnStar used to e-mail me that information monthly (among a bunch of other stuff...) BUT you have to pay OnStar $17/Month.
I just figured I had the entry level dash so I wouldn't have the detailed info...
I got the 34 wheel montior with 8 sensors. I use it for my trailer. I had the extra sensors, so they are on the truck. Not cheap (~$400 for 6 tires) and requires a place to put the rcvr, but it does tell you pressures.

You can also just touch the north arrow at the top left of the screen and it will switch between always north and your direction always being up.
I don't know if other vehicles do this, but I've never noticed it on any of my others:
when using cruise control if you bump the control down down a few times (like when initially setting cruise) the truck will decellerate that many mph. Bump it five times, it drops 5 mph. Does the same thing going up (I realize it actually says "accellerate", but I'm pretty sure in my last truck you just had to hold the button down and wait for it to hit the desired speed). I discovered this on the interstate and was way too thrilled. Makes getting the exact speed you want way easier.
Also, (maybe my favorite thing about the truck and I think its turned several of my friends into 'yota fans) when you remove the cup holders from the console the big hole it leaves is EXACTLY the right size to hold a six pack. I think its too perfect to be a coincidence...
Sometimes when on road trips I actually put an empty bud light box in there to turn the 2 cup holders into 6 (my girlfriend and I tend to fight over prime drink holding real estate).
1. There should be a dial a little further in towards the wheel on the same control as the lights that control the extra driving lights. At least mine does.
2. There is a button under the driver's dash by the driver legs that you push and hold to reset the air pressure light.
3. At 5000 miles a light pops up to tell you to get the oil changed or a check-up.

Yep. That's the industry standard. It was not this way years ago but for some time now if you want to add 5mp you just bump the accel button five times. Conversely, if you want to slow down 10mph you bump the deccel button ten times in a row. Very nice. The Delphi (Delco) systems really set the standard years ago and Toyota is just catching up to their logic and input frequency response. One thing Toyota does have over the Delphi system is the cancel option by pulling the stalk selector. On the Delphi you "had" to tap the brakes or turn the system off, the latter resulting in memory loss.

Dont hate on me because im a gen-I owner, but this was a very popular topic on the gen-I board. It got alot of hits. People 5 years later were finding cool things that there gen-I's did that they didnt know about when they first purchased them...check it out:
Now, i think it would be cool for me and other gen-II owners to here what your gen-II does that you didnt know when you first purchased it. who knows what you will find out from other TS members.

If your cruise is set, and you're going down a long hill, and you accelerate due to gravity, the transmission will up-shift to prevent you from exceeding the set point by more than a couple of MPH.
