I bought my 09 a few days ago with 21 miles and NO GAS (or what I thought was no gas). Anyway the gas light was on from the start so I went straight to the gas station to fill up and all I could get in was just over 20 gallons before it was topped off. The manual says these have 25 gallong tanks so there had to be AT LEAST 4-5 gallons in the tank when the light came on.

Odd. My manual says the truck has a 26.4 gallon tank.

I figure about 6 gallons in my tank when the light comes on - based on what I'm able to get in the tank when it does.

The most I ever filled was 24.8 gallons - as I've never run it out of gas.

We all have 26.4 gallon tanks. It's actually a bit annoying that the gas light indicator lights up when there is still close to 6 gallons of gas in the tank. That's a bit excessive but I think if you average 13Mpg (which is a safe average for the 5.7), and you estimate that you have 5 gallons left at the time your light comes on, that gives you a good 65 miles to go. I use this as a rule of thumb but always make it to the gas station within 30 miles.

Or you could think of it this way...Towing 10k across country, getting say 8mpg, that gives me 40 or so miles to find a station...personally, I like the buffer.
The Tundra was built as a worker, not a commuter...although mine does alot more commuting (5 days a week) than working (2 days on the weekend).

when I first bought mine, I could only put 18-18.5 gal when the light would first come on (too convient to fill up). Now when it comes on I'm putting nearly 21 gals. go figure!

I believe (Correct me if Im wrong, lost the window sticker) my 09 Crewmax 5.7 4x4 has a 30 gallon tank. I don't believe I've ever been able to put more than 21 or 22 gallons in when the needle was halfway between the quarter tank and E.

I bought this little goodie from buy.com for taking calls and streaming music from my phone to the AUX input. Works like a charm, plus you get a little remote that attaches to the steering wheel to answer calls and control the music player on the phone. I picked it up when it was on sale for $30.99!

thanks to this website, you can take all of 2 minutes and remove the spring in the driver's seat belt buckle and stop that annoying 30 second beep if you happen to take your seat belt off. Don't mess with the passenger side seat belt and just by removing that one little spring on the driver's seat belt buckle, there is no chimes or beeps from either the drivers OR PASSENGER side when not buckled. Awesome post to whomever thought of this brilliant little fix for something that should not have been installed on any vehicle to annoy people. Too bad I've had my truck almost 2 years now and just finally found some relief for that annoying chime.

Or you could have just spent five seconds and bought some ear plugs!

If that ever happened to me I would be worried. If the water from the AC ain't leaking out under the truck then its collecting in the plenum.

NOT GOOD!!! Yor drain may be clogged.

Depends on humidity. Here in Arizona I seldom notice any water from my A/C...but, the poster was in Florida where the humidity is always pretty high...think he would see something.
