Re: my truck bounce like a crazy ! how about you ?
Wow, mines the quietest, most comfortable riding truck, not to mention most powerful i've ever owned! I had every make to date and would choose to drive my new Tundra before my Cadillac, or anything else for that matter. I must have got the best Tundra, and only one they made, I guess? Well, I'll sell it to the highest bidder as it's sure to be a rare collector, lol! I read all these comments on this issue, and still went out and bought one anyway. My Tundra doesn't have any of these issues, at least not yet! And here in Wisconsin, the roads are just as sh!tty as anywhere else. My truck seems to be the real deal so far with no faults. Time will tell on the reliability end, but Toyota stands the best chance of getting that right also. There are cheaper trucks out there, but thats just what they are! I dont care if fords frame is stronger, their drivetrain sucks. And GM's interior may be more refined, but they can't tow for crap. I had them all, and with the Tundra, I find it hard they could improve it much more other than using better materials to upgrade their dash inside. There might be a better truck for hard core off roading, but for normal use, the Tundra is "The Truck"!

I am one of the California pussies and yes, I do have the 4x4 TRD. I've also come to think that it must be something with the TRD. The people who know the problem aren't talking about just bumps in the road, it's more like miles of concrete whoop-tee-do's on what are supposed to be freeways where the truck falls into a rythym that feeds on itself and really shakes your sh!t up. For the best description of what us whiners are talking about, find the recent thread in here that has the video taken by one of our victims ... then picture bouncing down the road like that for 20 minutes.
Wo wo easy now, just because you live in cali doesn't make you a wimp. I admit if we had those crappy rodes here like ya'll do, i'd be whining to.
I thought all the complaing I was reading about was the bed wobbling like in the bed bounce video. From what I hear above about the freeways causing the truck to buck I think there are 2 differnet topics here. If those are complaining about the bucking on the freeway I would say that in my VW Bug, Celica, Old F150 and tundra it is all the same. Is the new 07 doing something really bad over these bumps??

Cool. Nice to hear that. I was thinking about installing one of those, but I wasn't sure if I should wait till my suspension settle's down a little bit. I was just looking underneath the truck this afternoon and the part of the frame where the bed is mounted does move or flex. I laid on my back, I put my feet against the left frame, next to the bumper and pushed it up. It lifted the left side frame more than the right side. So the sway bar will prevent that and instead it will lift both sides of the frame at the same time. I'm putting one on order tonight.
throw a sure trax in the back and if that doesnt help buy a freaking sedan!! if you have a problem with the ride buy chevy or ford.
"sure trax"..... what the He!! is that..... Oh, maybe you mean shurtrax.

I just went to the Ram and F-150 forums and did a subject search for "bounce". I would post links, but I don't know if that's allowed here. Anyway, they have the VERY SAME complaints going on there too about the California freeways and the trucks bouncing around. This does not appear to be a Tundra only issue. I don't think Toyota should take the fall for the crappy roads in California.
I just got back from a trip that took be over some less than perfect terrain and I had my driver side mirror tilted in so I could see the bed. There was NO excessive bouncing at all. I have the TRD suspension and a 125 pound fiberglass tonneau cover on my truck.

Well then, let's move on to the next negative catch phrase!

I am seriously consdiering a Tundra. So far, I have driven 2 of them. One was an SR5 DC 2 wheel drive with the 20" BBS wheels. It did not have the TRD package. I was impressed with the ride, it felt very sporty, but smooth at the same time. This past weekend, I went to another dealership and drove an SR5 Crewmax with the TRD package and the 18" wheels and BFG tires. The ride was much more choppier and it did appear that I felt a shutter throughout the truck when I drove over bumps in the highway. I live in Atlanta and for the most part, our highways are pretty smooth. I drove an 08 Titan 4 door, 2 wheel drive with the 20" wheels, to compare, and I have to admit that the Titan seemed to have a very buttoned down feel on the Highway. I really like the Tundra CrewMax, but not being an off-roader, I want a truck that is going to have a nice ride on the streets.
My question to you guys is how much of a difference do you think the TRD package makes on the ride quality over a Tundra without the stiffer springs? Or is there a difference between the double cab and the CrewMax in terms of rdie quality?
