I was planning on complaining to my dealer about the bouncing bed issue. Each time I roll over a speed bump in a parking lot, the bed bounces as though it's not bolted to the frame correctly. After reading this post, I'm begining to think I'll be wasting my time addressing this issue with my dealer.
well if everyone thinks like you and doesnt report it, what would incline toyota to do anything about it?
What if someone from Toyota released that vid. But reversed it.
"watch how much give and flex the Tundra has. It can bend like no other. Now watch how rigid the Ford is. Watch as it has no give at all. Watch as the bolts and frame are under great stress since there is no flex. "
I bet we wouldn't have this thread if that was the case.
I don't think people are complaining about the video but about how it feels on the road.
His point was, if there was no video, there would be no or less complaint. The video planted the seed for the worry warts to start nitpicking.

I wonder if the guys in the Silverado forums are worrying about how their trucks looked in that comparison video. Less bed movement (still alot though) than the Tundra, but wheels that were off of the ground most of the time, making the truck difficult to control for the driver in the picture!
Nah, probably not. They saw the videos as the fake "escaped from the factory" viral advertising it was. They no doubt have long experience in the Ford v/s Chevy wars, and blew it off as creative advertising by the competitor.
I realize some see a perceived problem in the ride of their trucks and the bed movement related to this. I say "perceived", because I sincerely doubt there is that much difference between trucks, other than 4WD and/or TRD differences, so we all have the "bed bounce problem". Some apparently just don't perceive it as such.
I'm just saying that the trumped-up Ford video is being used as justification for their concerns, and I'd prefer some more objective data on something that I believe is by design, not a flaw.
I'm sorry you don't like the ride of your truck, but it is hardly a flaw worthy of a class-action lawsuit (or even a "flaw" as such), and not unprecedented in the world of large pickup trucks.
here we go again.....it's a truck boyz, if you wanted a smooth ride you sould have bought a camry.....now pull your panties up, get a 6pak of bud pounda's and go rip on your tundra.
The problem I'm experiencing is not 'perceived' nor is my issue a 'worry wart' issue after watching the ford bashing toyota video. The problem I'm experiencing is real, nothing I've experienced with past trucks. For those of you out there blindly defending Toyota...try going over a speed bump with your windows down. I'm shocked if you're not experiencing the same symptoms as I and many others on this forum. There is a distinct thud sound from the bed and visable movement. I realize that many people on this forum are dealership employees who represent Toyota products but enough is enough. Most people are citing real world examples of issues they're experiencing with their vehicles. Accepting the feedback and working together to resolve the problem would require far less energy than blindly defending Toyota. And no, I'm not a troll.
Before someone chooses to bash me, I'm as much a Toyota fan as anyone on this forum. I'm simply offering my real world experience in an attempt to seek resolution....Isn't that what forums are for?

How fast are you going over said speed bump? less than 5 mph? Probably not.
Have you brought your truck in to Toyota to get it inspected? Probably not.
