Default Re: List of Spacer Lifts for the 2007 Tundra

I am about to lift my truck using the 2.5" ReadyLift spacers and 1" rear blocks and I am wondering if it would be beneficial to replace the stock shocks while I'm at it. What are the pros and cons of replacing the stock shocks with Rancho's or Bilsteins? Does it even matter? I will be replacing the stock 20's with the standard Pro Comp 6066 and BFG 305/55R20 package - does this combo add much weight over stock? Enough to worry about needing new shocks? Anyone here running this combo of wheels and tires w/ stock shocks care to weigh in about their ride quality?

I have a non-TRD package truck.

Thanks!

Please elaborate. I haven't heard of loss of suspension travel with bags. I have a pair of Air Lifts that I'm going to install today or tomorrow. I want to get the Truxx 3-1 kit later this year and do a fair amount of off-road driving for work. Thanks in advance!

Everything I have ever read about air bags, has led me to believe that they do not compress or extend as far as the stock suspension with an additional overload spring.

They are great on road for ride and load leveling, but if you tax the rear suspension to max compression and extension, such as you would in a moderate off road situation, the air bags may break.

Read this part in the FAQ...
"Can air springs raise or lower my vehicle? "
FAQ Air Lift Company

Read the following parts in the Troubleshooting guide...
"Flex member is pulled away from the crimp."
"Brackets are bent or broken, and or bracket to frame bolts are broken."
"Lower bracket has moved away from the axle towards the end of the leaf spring."
Troubleshooting Guide Air Lift Company

I also included the installation pdf...

now im having second thoughts now that ive been readying about the truxxx 3/1..

do you think I should go ahead with the readylift or return it and get the truxx?

im reading that it wont be level and that it will drop down a bit?

Knowing what I know now, I would go with the 3/1. I have the 2.25" TGC and then added airbags cause the taildragging bugged me so much.
Or keep what you're getting and add airbags. I can't believe I have had about a dozen trucks and never got airbags, I think they are a must!
