Was wondering how many of you looked at both trucks before deciding on the Tundra. I like both, have driven both, and both have features I like.
The Tundra I looked at was on 07 SR5 Double Cab and the Titan is an 07 Crew Cab. The Tundra has more safety features standard, and they both seem to ride comfortably. Of course the Tundra has more horsepower and a few more pounds of torque.
So why did you decide on the Tundra over the Titan?
Thanks
My buddy has owned a Titan Crew Cab for 2 years. He testdrove a Crew Max with the 5.7L and traded it in on the spot for the Crew Max. He always spoke very highly of his Titan in the past as well. Needless to say, he loves his Tundra!
I hate to do a repost but since you asked.........
I recently traded in a 2005 SE king cab, (big tow, off road) for a Limited double cab Tundra 5.7 (off road). I realize that I am not comparing apples to apples here (LE to Limited would be in order) but after two months & 2,250 miles here is my opinion of the two.
First off a little history on the Titan. Mileage at trade: 34,500. Condition: excellent. Current problems: none. Past problems: Brakes twice, fuel evap valve and the gas cap came apart (Nissan gave me a cap off an 07)
History on the Tundra Mileage: 2.250 Mods on truck: Debaged, SS step bars, A.R.E. cover, BedRug.
Ride: Titan. Even with the off road package the Titan was more supple. Handling: Toss up. At highway speeds the Titan drove itself where the Tundra, due to sensitive steering requires a little more attention (wind pushes the Tundra around a bit more). Around town Tundra wins easily. Parking: Tundra, turning radius is exceptional. Controls: The Titans were easier to quickly find. Tundra has the sequential shifter. Front Seats: Comfort Titan. But the Titan’s seats would stain from a few rain drops. Rear Seats: Comfort Tundra (from what I am told). Front Egress: Titan. The Tundra front seats are extremely high. Rear Egress: Tundra, non suicide doors are a plus. Exterior styling: Completely subjective. Front side windows: Titan as both had auto up/down. Rear side windows: Tundra as the Titan’s were fixed. Power: Tundra, but fairly close. Towing: Tundra, but again, not by much. I do like the auto downshift in the tranny in tow mode when you tap the brakes. Interior sound level: Subjective, but I do appreciate the quite cab of the Tundra. Mileage: Tundra by 2 mpg Engine Bay: Tundra, plenty of room to work ( mount HIDs etc) and all bulbs have immediate access. Bed: Even, both have the assisted tailgate. Storage: Tundra has a few more cubbies but the Titans fit what I typically carry a little better. Audio: I don’t miss seeing the radio face in the Titan’s rear window. Tundra’s JBL radio does not have text for std radio mode. Construction: Tundra is tighter then the 2005 Titan was when new. The Titan had a few occasional come & go rattles from day one, Tundra has none. I think the lack of the suicide style rear doors offers a significant strengthening for the cab.

Same reason I picked the Tundra over the 07 Silverado: aside from the 5.7 and six-speed, Tundra DC combines a usable back seat with a 6.5 foot bed. Titan/Silverado extended cab back seat is too small, and their crew cabs have a shorter bed. I believe you can get a crew Silverado with 6.5 foot bed, but the wheelbase is too long for off-roading. With comparable wheelbase, the Tundra has a tighter turning radius than the competition too.
This is my first Toyota, and so far so good. Fuel mileage sucks above 70, but otherwise very satisfied. 4,000 miles.
Never even considered a Titan. Looked at the Silverado's, Ram's and the Fords. The Titans to me are just butt ugly and their specs aren't what I was looking for. My Tundra is the best truck I have ever driven and it's comfort equals it's power....it's got every thing and more than I'd hoped for in a truck. Would buy another in a heartbeat.

I think Toy just tried to hard to copy the domestics while Nissan went their own way. The Titan is just Pure Joy to drive....can't say the same about my Toy...it's fun but to me it seems domestic Bland.
Man, don't be rude. The guy's point of view was constructive and informative. It is his opinion and he is entitled to it. You are entitled to disagree; if you have driven both cars, post on it. If everyone sang nothing but praise around here, there would be nothing to talk about.

I think it has to come down to personal choice and which one gives you more for your buck 07 nissan's around here have $3000.00 rebates in which could sway you one way or another but make sure your totally happy w/ which ever one you choose don't worry about what others think it will be your truck

I have owned two Titans. Electronic time bombs. The reason for the second one is because dealer made me a trade in offer I could not refuse, due to all of the problems encountered. Albeit, the second Titan was not as bad, it started to fall apart as well. (I.E Rack & pinnion, Starter, Front struts(right from day one I might add), and cracked manifold from higher exhaust temps towing trailer, not to mention the numerous times it had to go in to get the water separator changed on the fuel tank. It really sucks trying to fuel up your truck and the fuel will not go into the tank.
Currently driving 07 DC TRD 5.7L and very pleased with the truck. 14000 Km so far.
I also owned 2002 Tundra, but found the truck a touch too small, but mechanically flawless. 135000 Km when sold.
Anyway, through my experiences, Nissan's quality control is not even close to that of Toyota's. There is no comparison.
$4000.00 more on the price tag of the Titan exemplifies the Tundra as the superior truck.

So tell me Tundraaaaaaaaaaaaaah what kind of lift it that on your Titan? Looks mighty BIG.
Oh....I've seen a familiar truck before..... here's another picture...
Oh I remember where I saw it...in my drive way!! And now its at the Toyota Dealer!! Traded it for another Tundra!
